No, that's not the case. I was here during the civil rights movement, I doubt you were. And if you study our history you find that each time measures have been implemented to reduce or erase bigotry, there is a backlash from part of white America. Policies made to give everyone the same opportunity weren't mistakes. The policies you see these people bitching about give whites the majority of the opportunity because they are the majority. DEI gives whites the majority but says whites can't have all the jobs. So the only mistake made was by not making the penalties more stringent.

When whites are 60 percent of the population, are 76 percent of the employed, and hold on average 80 percent of the management positions, for anyone to take about racial resentment because people want equal representation in the workplace is straight-up dumbass.

As the Democratic Party looks around and finds itself in the political abyss, I'm starting to see some folks ask about who is going to lead them out of that abyss.

Personally, I think that if the person or people behind whom they rally keeps them on the same path that got them here, they're going to stay here. That means the new leader(s) of the party have to focus squarely on the Middle Class (if it isn't too late), and run directly away from the Identity Politics & Political Correctness that largely put them in this mess.

"But we DO support the Middle Class!" they'll say. To which I would respond, "no, when you were screaming RACISM and HOMOPHOBIA and TOXIC MASCULINITY at people, when you were wrecking their careers and their businesses because they "offended" you, many of those people WERE the Middle Class.
