This Administration seems not to comprehend the real need for the Developing World to utilize the earth's cheapest, most plentiful sources of energy to lift them into modernity - cheap electricity, heat, transportation, agriculture, maybe even the internet.

Out in the non-oblivious world,...

After Mr. Kerry’s many trips to Beijing and his earnest pleas for cooperation on climate, the Chinese government announced a 42% increase in the production of coal-based electric generation.

India is even more aggressive. According to the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air: “Three non-captive coal plant expansions (3.9 gigawatts, or GW) received permits in the first five months of 2023 alone, up from zero the year before, as well as seven other coal plant proposals (7.6 GW) also moving forward in the permitting process by receiving Terms of Reference, and two additional coal plants (2.9 GW) appeared under consideration for the first time this year. …

“India has an estimated 65.3 GW of proposed, on-grid coal capacity under active development: 30.4 GW under construction and 34.9 GW in pre-construction (14.4 GW permitted, 11.8 GW pre-permit, and 8.8 GW announced). This capacity represents nearly a third of the country’s operational on-grid, non-export coal capacity (212.5 GW).”

Other countries expanding their coal-based electric generation include Indonesia, Bangladesh, Turkey, Vietnam, Mongolia and Laos.

So seriously, what sense does it make for Americans to be forced to buy electric cars and trucks, to turn down their thermostats in Winter and turn them up in Summer? Why should we pay more for auto fuel, with the President's Administration doing everything it can to make oil production more difficult and expensive?

A little good is infinitely better than no good. And besides, how would it look if we did nothing and then tried to tell them to do something? It'd look like shit, that's what.

Hey African countries - got oil in the ground? Sell it BP or Shell and you can become a rich country too. To the disdain of rich countries who want to buy your oil in the first place.

Our President, despite his obvious dementia, understands the long term impacts of global warming and is taking action to reduce our impact
He doesn't understand anything. He's a commie from the word go! There is no global warming crisis. It's all made up.

Ah, a whiny BDS thread. We just don't get enough of those.

When the BDS losers get told to post those, it's because their masters are trying to deflect from just how good Biden is.

In this case, I think it's because the media just can't ignore how good the Biden economy is any more. They've been trying so hard, but the evidence is just too overwhelming. If any Republican president had presided over an economy this good, the media would be demanding to have that president's face carved into Mt. Rushmore.
