I am in agreement with you, especially on the issue of raising taxes on the rich.
as far as cutting waste, that is always something to be desired, but it takes brains and an intelligent approach/plan to have some success. Unfortunately, and until things are run by robots, waste will always occur as humans are fallible, and waste and corruption is found in 90% of all people.
No, they do not. For the past 17 years (since Obama), the Republicans have been more unwilling to compromise than the Democrats. Having said that, this all about percentages, meaning you can always find in both parties, people that are not willing to compromise.
Like everything in life, you try to stay with the people that do less bad than the other, knowing that both parties have good "and" bad.
Here is an example of what I am saying:
But fewer than half of Republicans (41%)—including just a third of conservative Republicans—say it is very important for GOP elected officials to make compromises with Democrats.
Democrats are slightly more likely than Republicans to value political compromise in principle. Still, only 48% of Democrats say it is very important for officials in their party to be willing to compromise with Republicans, including 42% of liberal Democrats.
41% of Republicans are willing to compromise
48% of Democrats are willing to compromise.
