The "Beautiful" Budget bill in Congress right now (pushed by both Trump and Johnson), would raise National debt by $4 Trillion, if passed!

This is not about "caring". This is about being elected and being faithful to the oath you took. What the other side did or did not due is of no importance to what YOU (as the current president and party in power) does.

One other thing that is important. We are in a 3-tiered government (House, Senate, and President) and it is all about offering solutions to the problem and all other parts of the government agreeing. This is why this is a Democracy where no one person decides what needs to be done, it is done with the approval of the people.

This is why when a party is not able to get something done is because "the people" did not agree to it.

This is also why "compromising" is so important, and I have to say that it is the Republicans that have carried the "my way or the highway" mentality and why nothing happened during the Biden administration.
That’s very nice long winded bullshit what you conveniently leave out is Democrats have the exact same my way or the highway attitude when they are the ones running things. Proving again people only care when it’s not their side doing it no matter how much you and those like you on both sides try and pretend otherwise.

todd's a partisan stained paper, but I think Reagan's tax cuts did work, and Carter began jacking up rates and CUT tax rates on long term held investments ... to encourage selling ones that didn't perform well.

But for various reasons, applying the same policy to different economies facing new challanges doesn't get the same result. And that's actually a "law." lol

We need to cut, not raise spending. When Biden wanted to add $6.4 trillion and Manchin and Sinema voted against it, I supported them and I will support all the Republicans that vote against this. I am for DOGE and their cutting waste, I am also for cutting the budget, this is unacceptable, we need to cut, raise taxes and wind down the debt before it bites us.
I am in agreement with you, especially on the issue of raising taxes on the rich.

as far as cutting waste, that is always something to be desired, but it takes brains and an intelligent approach/plan to have some success. Unfortunately, and until things are run by robots, waste will always occur as humans are fallible, and waste and corruption is found in 90% of all people.

No, they do not. For the past 17 years (since Obama), the Republicans have been more unwilling to compromise than the Democrats. Having said that, this all about percentages, meaning you can always find in both parties, people that are not willing to compromise.

Like everything in life, you try to stay with the people that do less bad than the other, knowing that both parties have good "and" bad.

Here is an example of what I am saying:

But fewer than half of Republicans (41%)—including just a third of conservative Republicans—say it is very important for GOP elected officials to make compromises with Democrats.

Democrats are slightly more likely than Republicans to value political compromise in principle. Still, only 48% of Democrats say it is very important for officials in their party to be willing to compromise with Republicans, including 42% of liberal Democrats.

41% of Republicans are willing to compromise
48% of Democrats are willing to compromise.

I agree, however disagree with taxing just the rich, we all need to be taxed, however I believe that even passive income needs to be taxed, not just earned.

We need to streamline government, stop all the duplicity in government and let DOGE work and cut.

Trump's actions of cutting spending by getting rid of many of the department's presently in place at the beginning of 2025, was supposed to get rid of much of the debt that U.S. has amassed over the past 60 years. Nonetheless and if passed, the present budget bill that Johnson has put together and that Trump supports, will add to the U.S debt by $4 Trillion. In addition, it takes away from the poor (cuts Medicaid for 7.6 to 10.3 million) and gives more money to the rich.

AI Overview

The House budget resolution being considered in Congress proposes a $4 trillion increase to the debt limit, according to PBS and McGuireWoods Consulting. This is intended to allow the Treasury to continue paying bills and avoid a federal debt default. The bill also includes provisions for tax cuts and potential cuts in other areas to offset the cost, according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.

AI Overview

The potential impact of President Trump's budget bill on Medicaid enrollment is significant, with estimates varying between 7.6 and 10.3 million people potentially losing coverage by 2034 if the proposed cuts and reforms are enacted.

Is this what Americans need and want?

I think Doge was more a dodge than anything, unfortunately. Trump had 4 years to work this out. Why not just tell each agency dept how much of a haircut they get in the budget the House is supposedly going to get around to, sooner or later? Can't cut somethings, but Musk did identify some things, but it seems pretty obvious that we can cut things like fed educ spending, medicaid, for aide (not a lot there, really,in the larger scheme, but still.

7.6-10.3 million will lose their coverage by 2034?!?!?! In nine ******* years?!?! The horror

And again Democrats have become the exact same way during the same timeframe the difference is I don’t pretend like they haven’t. The two sides have their obvious ideological differences but that is where they end they are virtually identical in their mindset and how they govern.

so 1 million per year average losing their health insurance is OKAY for you?

NO ONE should ever lose their health insurance

Several countries provide automatic health insurance for all citizens or residents. These include Canada, Norway, Sweden, France, and the United Kingdom, among others. These countries typically have universal healthcare systems, either publicly funded or with a mix of public and private insurance, where everyone is automatically covered for basic healthcare services.

Aren't we supposed to be the best nation in the world?

It’s already a disaster, your meme is where we are at already, why not try a new approach. Clinton did a good job of starting it, Bush, Obama and Biden have not filled their promises to cut waste spending, now it is time and the more we cut the better but adding spending like Trump wants to is not the way. Raise taxes and cut spending and waste.

It's not a Democrat vs Republican kind of thing.
It's Democrat AND Republican vs fiscal responsibility.
It is a Democrat vs Republican thing when they ignored the downgrading while Biden was POTUS but tried to focus on it now that Trump is POTUS, mkay?

Well, if that is true, you better be ready to blame Trump (not Biden) for what he has done the last 4 months. He has done more actions that Biden did, and as such, he should be accountable for HIS actions
Prices are down for fuel... food... and even beer... I know because I do my own shopping... foreign nations and corporations are investing in America... the wars that Biden let happen are going to end... talks are going on between Russia and Ukraine... its sad because if Joe would have done this years ago just think how many lives would not have ended... and how easier it would be to mend fences... and in case you haven't heard this on fake news... every economist I've heard now say a recession is not coming so I don't know what you are talking about... but neither do you...

Food prices are slightly lower but every single economist and companies that evaluate things like this have stated unequivocally that prices will be going up because of what Trump has done.

The rest of your post is pure opinion and not based on facts. The Russian/Ukrainian war continues, it has been stated clearly by India that the stop in that war was not because of Trump and already there is a big list of things that have started to happen that ar negatives and will not change.

Sorry, but your fantasy land is about to go away

Sure, whatever you say.

You debasement means nothing. Reality is what counts and that is yet to be seen

Go back and get some more of this. It seems you need it

Trump doesn't control the fed.

That's just the Deep State trying to sabotage the economy.

95% of what these Leftists have said for the last 8 or 9 years has been proven wrong. Not a 1 of them deserves to even have an opinion in a polite society.

But, let us say they are correct for the 1st time in forever...........unless you count the crooked judge in New York; bit I digress.

4 TRILLION is a lot cabbage, and unless Trump gets things going correctly, we may be screwed. But, the alternative was Joe giving our money to ILLEGALS who never paid a cent in, or for planes to fly them all over the country to hide them, or for CLIMATE CHANGE while China and India laughed in our faces.

So if I have a choice to get in trouble, it will be by FINANCING ME, and not illegal aliens, China, or India.

And as far as the cut to poor people! We have open jobs. GO GET ONE!
