Spot on. My sons are 35 and 29; I no longer need to tell them what they can or cannot do, in fact they ask my opinion and when I offer it they respect it. Neither have a diamond earing, ride motorcycles or sky dive, both have IRA's (Roth and Regular) and have passed on vacations and toys to fund their retirements.
