Texas Republicans’ Gerrymandering Scheme Just Took A Beating In Court

You really think Maxine Waters would stay in office if her constituency was mostly white ?
California is the South now?

Since blacks and other minorities represent less than 1/4 of the population, you would think a minority would never be elected to a statewide position, like governor or senator. So if they can pull that off, why not the same for a house seat?

Just like bed wetter "judges" (they should be called anti-constitution activist lawyers, NOT judges) undermine the will of the people more than anyone else.

Isn't that a description of how electoral votes work?

No.

The Electoral College prevents smaller regions with heavy populations from dominating the surrounding areas disproportionately.

A better example of "undermining the will of the people" would be when the queer mafia sued in commiefornia and the bed wetters "working" as government lawyers refused to defend the people's will.

Same-sex marriage in California - ...

It passed in 2008, the same year the meat puppet faggot was elected.

"The will of the people"

"The law of the land"

These are relative terms to moonbats. Subject to "change".... OR ELSE.

Republicans classically, reference Tom DeLay in Texas, who redrew districts so that minority votes were either concentrated into a couple of districts, or purposefully diluted with the overall outcome being to produce the greatest number of republican districts, and fewest number of democratic districts. Six districts were declared unconstitutional as a result.

Once that lunatic Ruth Badger Ginsburg shucks the mortal coil we might see a bunch of these butthurt democrook lawsuits properly disposed of on a faster pace.

There aren't enough moonbats to replace the ones dying off naturally, and since they've either aborted their offspring or encouraged them to become queers it won't be long before the DNC dissolves into an even more ridiculous sideshow and the CPUSA starts taking a few costal seats.

I'm not to worried about the future with parasites like you parroting such gibberish.

You did forget to call DeLay a racist though.

Actually NO. Republicans gerrymander so much and so blatantly, the federal courts have sited them more than anybody else.

It's almost funny how these bed wetters maintain their grudges.

Let's be real here. In 2008 they got a vacuous cult of personality elected to the WH. He was supposedly so smart that all we had to do was sit back and wait for the great global AC he was going to build and cool the planet with. We just had to relax and wait for the free shit.

Reality set in QUICKLY for many people and in 2010 the GOP swept nearly every election across every ballot.

Now if the moonbat messiah did ANYTHING right, that would not have happened. The democrooks would have had carte blanch to gerrymander, rig, hide bodies but register them to vote first.

What did happen is we got obozocare and since then the democrooks have won just one significant election. Thanks for keeping that meat puppet queer around.

Presisdential rankings: Obama 12th of 45
Bush jr. 32nd of 45

DeLay was a republican, which means he doesn't respect the rights of minorities. But that doesn't make him a racist in the classic sense of the word. He won't discriminate against a black person to their face, but he'll do it behind their back.

I suppose if you consider the fact the DNC crumbled around him, yeah....

The meat puppet faggot did a much better job at marginalizing the domestic political enemies of the Constitution than Bush did.

The problem is that was the opposite of his objective.

Have you ever had your own thoughts on any subject at all?

Hitlary has more balls than bed wetting sycophants than you. In the 2008 race she came out and said obozo had not done "
the necessary spade work" for the presidency.

Right on national TV...

If that wasn't a classic Southern democrook telling an uppity spook to get back in his place you're head is securely jammed up your ass sufficiently enough to make you a moonbat.

You regurgitate all the same mindless bile as if it's something that should even be paid attention to, while ignoring the behavior of the sociopaths you promote.

Since when is "minority voting strength" a Constitutional issue? Democrats have been gerrymandering districts since FDR was in office. A district in N.C. runs along the interstate where nobody lives in order to unite "minority voting strength". It seems to me that judges should be more focused on equality based on geographical boundries rather than the alleged "strength" of voters based on their skin color and ethnicity.

ix districts were declared unconstitutional as a result.

Sorry but that proved MY point. Gerrymandering that disadvantages minorities is found unconstitutional and isn't allowed to stand. Therefore, the gerrymandering that exists is to enhance minority representation.

The court confirmed that “Texas intentionally discriminated to disenfranchise Latino and African-American voters,” the DNC chair said.

A panel of federal judges in San Antonio ruled Friday that some of Texas’ congressional districts are unconstitutional or violate the Voting Rights Act.

A 2-1 majority in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas decided that the Texas legislature must redraw Texas’ 23rd, 27th and 35th Congressional Districts. The 23rd and 27th districts are represented by Republicans, while the 35th is represented by a Democrat.

“This Court finds that map-drawers acted with an impermissible intent to dilute minority voting strength or otherwise violated the Fourteenth Amendment,” judges Xavier Rodriguez and Orlando Garcia wrote in their opinion.

In January, a federal court ordered the Wisconsin legislatures to redraw their legislative districts so they do not favor Republicans as much.

And a federal court ruled in January that 12 of Alabama’s legislative districts were unconstitutional due to their racial makeup as well.

Should gerrymandering be outlawed - regardless of whether the intentions are honorable or dishonorable?
Washington Redskin, gerrymandering is what career politicians do you retarded fucking piece of shit. It's the way it's always been done on both sides of the isle. Are you constantly on a bender?
It's Prairie ******* like yourself that makes all us Indians look bad...

Prairie ******?

Lol....

Haven't heard that one.

Using it on lakoturd probably sullied the term though.

Ho hum, and major yawn. Gerrymandering districts has been going on for decades, and every time it occurs the offended party feigns outrage. And when their turn comes to redistrict, guess what, they gerrymander.

Actually NO. Republicans gerrymander so much and so blatantly, the federal courts have sited them more than anybody else.
Yup, I posted a statistical analysis a while back. It showed Democrats gerrymandered about 1.5% of the time and Republicans gerrymandered over 13% of the time.
