Texas Democrats flee the state to Illinois.

Go ahead & Trump's tough guy lapdogs won't get a quorum for months to do his dirty work.

Try to think before posting dumb shit. :itsok:

The whole episode reminds me on why I could never be a democrat.

If they were smart, they'd use the time to focus on what the GOP is doing instead of addressing poor GOP planning. One month ago today, over 100 people died because the GOP never installed sensors in the hill country. They haven't even recovered all of the bodies yet! But somehow a naked power-grab is more important than ensuring the safety of children.

Most Texans, of course, won't care but this is what the democrats should be highlighting. You may get one or two of the bumpkins to acknowledge reality.

Democrat State representatives have to eventually come return to Texas. Arrest each of them as they return and hold them in custody until a quorum is achieved and escort them to the state capital seat them and conduct the business of State government..

For protesting Repub's anti-democratic plan to gerrymander? Wait.........you were just joking, right?
Gerrymandering is legal you know that? 150 years old

Here we go again.

Texas Democrats are once again fleeing the state to deny a quorum to Texas Republicans to protest redistricting plans that may provide Republicans up to five Congressional seats.

Yeah, they've pulled this stunt before...last time fleeing to Oklahoma. But Oklahoma, being a Republican state, said... Come and get 'em.

So this time they've fleeing to Chicago, ostensibly to protest alleged gerrymandered.

Have you seen Illinois Congressional Map???

Democrats once again yell CHARGE, then shot themselves right in the foot.

When those shitheads do come back to Texas, they should be met at the border by these guys...

Well..tit for tat, I guess. I really don't like the Gerrymandering that both sides do, I think it subverts the will of the people.
However, if one party is going to do it, you can believe the other one will.
At the end of the day, I think it's going to be a wash...with neither side gaining a lot of ground on the other.

California Democrats are considering new political maps that could slash five Republican-held House seats in the liberal-leaning state while bolstering Democratic incumbents in other battleground districts.

The move comes in direct response to efforts by Texas Republicans to redraw House districts in order to strengthen the GOP hold on the chamber in 2026.

A draft plan that’s circulating aims to boost the Democratic margin to 48 of California’s 52 congressional seats, according to a source familiar with the plan who was not authorized to discuss it publicly. That’s up from the 43 seats the party now holds. It would need approval from lawmakers and voters, who may be skeptical to give it after handing redistricting power to an independent commission years ago.

In addition, the proposal would generously pad Democratic margins in districts for competitive seats anchored in Orange County, San Diego County and the Central Valley farm belt, giving Democrats a potential advantage as Texas Republicans try to sway the tissue-thin balance of the House.

According to the proposal, districts now held by Republican Reps. Ken Calvert, Darrell Issa, Kevin Kiley, David Valadao and Doug LaMalfa would see right-leaning voters shaved and Democratic voters boosted in a shift that would make it likely a left-leaning candidate would prevail in each race.

DEMOCRATS - "Texas redistricting is cheating!!!!" -- GGRRRRRR!!!!!!!

DEMOCRATS - Another state outright threatens to cheat, 100% in retaliation.

You can't make this stuff up.

Its ridiculous in both cases. You draw the lines every 10 years.

The GOP is, once again, starting a fight and blaming everyone else for it.

Gerrymandering is a threat to democracy until the demafascit do it

This of course is done for the sole purpose of countering another states districting plan, so likely illegal

Demafasict don’t care

Pathetic blame shifting.
"Both sides", "Trumpsters".....
NO, you ******* Marxist contaminated IDIOTS started this MESS.:eusa_hand:
Uh..no.
Gerrymandering has been a tactic from the beginning. All parties attempt to put their thumbs on the scale.

In the last 50 years, nobody has done it better than Karl Rove for the Republicans. He almost literally saved his party.

How did they start a fight?
