Is there a legal expert on taxes, who could tell me who would pay the capital gains taxes on money designated as a UGMA account with a custodian that is someone other than the parent? The parent has nothing to do with this money, doesn't get statements or even know where or how it's invested. All I do know, is it's under the child's social security number. Who's responsible for the taxes?
