We just got a Tsunami Warning! There was a 7+ earthquake off the coast of Humboldt county. I'm not worried for chez boe, we're on a hill - but my sister lives on the Sonoma coast. Fingers crossed for the folks in the lowlands!

My daughter is in the Monterey Bay area and texted me about the warning, but it stopped just north of her. And then just before it was due to hit San Francisco they cancelled it, thank goodness.

Yes - we were very happy about that. I checked the earthquake map. We're now at 123 earthquakes in the past 24 hours in the area where the 7.0 happened yesterday. That is a lot of aftershocks - at least I hope they are "afters" and not pre-shocks for a bigger one.

Sometime in the late 1980s early 90s I was teaching an adult Sunday school class and explaining why various accounts in the Bible were described so differently by different writers. I used the example of JFK's assassination and funeral. Most in the class were over 40 and all remembered it vividly, but if each wrote down what they remembered they would recall some different names, remember sequence of events a bit differently etc. It would be obvious all were telling about the same event but the accounts would vary a bit.

It impressed me that there were quite a few senior citizens in my class who had just as vivid memory of Pearl Harbor. Some events are such that we never forget.
