Tariff ruling.

Yup....maybe you assholes are going to get the recession you've been bleating about for the last year and a half.

Not because of Trump....but because you're against every GD thing he does.
All these recessions under GOP candidates are squarely on them. They suck.

I assume the checks will be written to foreign countries since they paid the tariffs? :auiqs.jpg:

China about to get BILLIONS of US dollars I guess. LOL
Sorry, dipshit. The claim was that this was a tax on Americans.

Where do you get off claiming Trump can't raise tariffs (taxes) on foreign consumers?

A tariff is a tax imposed by a government on imported goods and services, designed to make foreign products more expensive and thus protect domestic industries or generate revenue. Paid by the importing business to their own government, these duties often increase consumer prices and can be used to influence trade policies

So we see another example of how what you're trying to accomplish might be perfectly reasonable, perfectly fine, but approaching it like a ******* caveman on meth probably isn't a good idea.

Over and over and over.

Will he/they learn? Nope! They sure won't!

Trump can impose tax on foreigners.
But he would need the US military to collect them at the point of a gun.

The Supreme Court did not ban tariffs. The ruling only said the IEEPA law used didn’t clearly authorize them.

Tariffs can still be imposed under other existing laws, including the Trade Act of 1974, the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, and the Tariff Act of 1930.

He’ll just impose them a different way

Suddenly the SCOTUS isn’t so bad. Don’t worry, the next time it rules against progressive interests, they’ll demonize it as a radical conservative court that’s against democracy
As glad as I am the Court actually followed the rule of law this time it should be noted the decision should have been unanimous. That it wasn't owing in part to the heretical views of two (Alito and Thomas) justices who are pure ideologues who think constitutional doctrine can be set aside in pursuit of their own agendas.

Stocks immediately rose on the complex ruling, with multiple opinions and dissents stretching to 170 pages. Roberts captured the central legal finding, writing that Trump had asserted "the extraordinary power to unilaterally impose tariffs of unlimited amount, duration, and scope."

The text of the law, he added, "cannot bear such weight."

"It can be tempting to bypass Congress when some pressing problem arises," Justice Neil Gorsuch added in a concurring opinion, "but the deliberative nature of the legislative process was the whole point of its design."

This what pretty much what I thought would happen and also what I thought should happen, and it did. It's much the same as when Biden tried to forgive student loans for just about everybody, and the SC struck that down too. I know the Congress is dysfunctional, but part of that problem lies with the voters that do not hold their representatives as accountable as they should.

If only life were as simple and delusional as the world you live in.

You ignore the reasons the Trump admin used to skirt those avenues
