Tariff ruling.

Tariffs get passed along to consumers. If the importers get relief from tariffs they should pass that along as well.
This is the problem of undoing a clusterf**k.

There is no easy solution.

The simple solution of just refund the taxes collected to the people who wrote the checks leaves unanswered, they wrote off the tax under business expenses, but now have to claim the refund as income.

The Trust Fund Baby of the Lucky Sperm Club? The Phony who has consistently lied and still lies about his wealth, and who cheats people out of payments owed, and had Daddy bail him out on so many occasions?

Trump's new wealth was made not from what he bragged about (developer real estate) but in Branding and that stupid tv show. And lets not forget he and his family and friends FLEECING AMERICA

Can I write a check?
You loons freaked out over them saying it was going to cost the American people billions and ruin the economy. Well it didn't, but now we will have to pay for lawyers. Pay the money back, probably with interest. So tell me how is this a good thing, other than to screw Trump and Americans?

Tariffs aren't paid by Americans, thus its not a tax.
Duped again. mudwhistle

It doesn't need to be explained for the umpteenth time.
You just need to accept the FACT that tariffs are in FACT a TAX on the Importer, who is from America, and can eat the cost or pass it on to the consumer.

But it is 100% a TAX.

A tariff is a tax imposed by a government on goods imported (and occasionally exported) across national borders.

More precisely:

  • It is levied at the point of entry, usually as a percentage of the product’s value (ad valorem) or as a fixed amount per unit.
  • The legal payer is the importer, but the economic burden is often passed on to others through higher prices.
Why tariffs are considered taxes:

  • They are mandatory payments to the government.
  • They are not optional if you want to import the good.
  • They generate government revenue, just like income or sales taxes.
Why some claim tariffs are “not a tax”:

  • The argument focuses on who writes the check (the importing firm, not the consumer).
  • However, in economics and public finance, taxes are defined by economic incidence, not just who formally pays. Empirical evidence shows tariffs often raise consumer prices, reduce competition, or lower wages/profits elsewhere in the supply chain.
Bottom line:
A tariff is a tax on international trade, even if the cost is indirectly paid by consumers, workers, or firms rather than appearing as a line item on a receipt.

Nothing will change the president has many other tariff powers not ruled on that are within the law

Early euphoria over trump being ***** slapped on tariffs has given way to the realization he will find ways to thwart the Court of the will of the people by imposing inflationary tariffs in other ways. So after being up around 400 points the Dow is down. The decline also being due to the HUGE disappointment on GDP and signs of continued, entrenched inflation............due to tariffs.

Boy that's a real intellectual argument.

How many has Trump actually "built?"

You might try seeking some help out for whatever ails you. Your mind is seriously warped:

Even an AI Bot has you being schooled:

Donald Trump has developed or branded a very small number of hotels from the ground up, with estimates often citing only two to four explicitly built, including the Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago.

Many other "Trump" hotels were conversions, management deals, or licensing, such as the Grand Hyatt.

  • Hotels Built/Developed: Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago (completed 2009) and often cited, the Trump Ocean Club in Panama (2011).
  • Other Properties: He has branded or acquired many others, including Trump International Hotel & Tower New York, Trump International Hotel, Washington D.C. (later sold), and various resorts like Doral.
  • Casinos: Formerly owned several, including Trump Taj Mahal.
Many of his branded hotels were developed by others through licensing agreements.

Donald Trump was never a successful builder or developer. He made real serious money being a Fake Real-TV celebrity and fleecing the American tax payers

If companies sue the government for tariff relief, they should expect class action suits from consumer group looking to get some of it for consumers.

If a group of pirates intercepted 99% ofevery widget we import, the 1 percent that made it through would have a huge price increase. When the pirates are found and fined for their crimes, the consumer can’t expect relief.

The problem is that those tariff provisions require an independent finding, and laying out the reasons behind the decision.

" Because I said so" is no longer good enough

This is no big deal and was the expected ruling. Trump will find a way to bypass this ruling in my opinion.

Remember when Biden used one method to forgive student loans. The SCOTUS ruled against him, so he attempted to find other ways to bypass the ruling.

The outrage was epic.

Now it will be crickets and/or full throated support.
