Number two the reality is that Assad wasn't involved in trying to assassinate the heads of state of other Arab countries. In fact Syria enjoys the support of the Arab street. They were one of the countries instrumental in stopping the war in Lebanon and rebuilding that nation. They are also a powerful nation and act as a foil against Israel.

Number three the reality is that Syria enjoys support from Europe, Russia and China. Like it or not..they would not be on board with an attack on Syria.

There are already "Syria like situations" throughout much of Africa and Asia where dictators are supressing their people.

America has already learned the hard way that the problem is not ousting the dictator, but the years it takes to extricate the military, leaving some sort of stable democratic government.

The American military is already stretched to the limit and with the budget crisis, the "spineless empty-suit 'president" has no guarantee that the House would stand behind him and approve the funds for another military intervention!
