Medical labs should be like police stations, never closed, always someone there to provide essential services. They could give some of the staff off and pay a few extra to keep the place open.

WTF is Juneteenth? Even my spellchecker doesn't know the word. Sounds like some made up crap.
.

It is exactly that. If anybody should get the day off, it's a Republican, since the Republicans are the ones who freed the slaves.

.

Woke up early to get some blood work done and big ass sign on the door saying closed. I thought medical labs only closed on MAJOR HOLIDAYS like

Thanksgiving
Christmas
Memorial Day
July 4th
Labor Day

Is Juneteenth now on the same level as July 4th????
You jadreools are a stail joke without a punchline. You deride Juneteenth but love the holiday that celibrates Columbus- a racist , genocidal psychopath

You claim that the Civil War was a war of Northern aggression and not about slavery

Then you call today's democrats the racists Pathetic!

Today's Republicans would not have freed the slaves. They would say that it was their own fault for being alive while black, and that they were to lazy and stupid to not get caught by the slave traders

Where I live you need an appointment for labwork

15th post
No they were NOT. They were freed on the prior Jan 1, just like every other slave.
Well, that is technically not true. Even after Juneteenth, slaves being held in Kentucky and Delaware were not freed until the ratification of the 13th Amendment in December 1865.

Why? Because they were not in a state of rebellion and could keep their slaves. The Emancipation Proclamation only pertained to slave holding states. BUT even so. If you have a friend who was born on Jan 1, but you did not learn of his or her actual birthday until June 19th, on which day would you have a party?

It only applied to states in rebellion and KY and DE were not.
