Supreme Court ruling on race based Louisiana redistrict question hurts democrats

Trump's BBB primarily benefits the rich with thick cuts of meat while middle-class Americans get table scraps.

who does trump's big beautiful bill help the most?

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), signed into law on July 4, 2025, primarily benefits high-income households, corporations, and the fossil fuel industry. While the White House has framed it as a massive middle-class tax break, nonpartisan analyses indicate that the wealthiest Americans and large businesses receive the largest share of financial gains. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
Primary Beneficiaries

  • High-Income Earners:
    • Analysis from the Tax Policy Center suggests that 57% of the tax cuts go to households earning over $217,000 annually.
    • Roughly one-third of the total benefits are concentrated among those earning more than $460,000.
    • The bill makes permanent the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) corporate tax rates.
    • It introduces expanded deductions for new manufacturing plants and more flexible interest deduction limits.
Key Provisions & Funding
The bill is projected to add $3.3 trillion to the national deficit through 2034. To offset costs, it includes significant spending cuts: [1, 2, 3]

Group Affected [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]Provision Impact
Low-Income FamiliesCuts to Medicaid, SNAP (food stamps), and other safety net programs.
Medicaid RecipientsNew work requirements and more frequent (6-month) re-enrolment checks.
SeniorsA temporary $6,000 deduction for tax years 2025–2028.
Public SectorIncreased funding for the military, border wall, and mass deportation efforts.
According to Congressional Budget Office estimates, the changes to Medicaid alone could result in 7.6 million Americans losing health insurance over the next decade. [1]
That's some left with propaganda.

No tax on tips, no tax on overtime,.....as you pointed out, Seniors can deduct $6k from their SS benefits

The change to medicaid, is a work requirement....a libertarian would support that.

When did I lie about you?
Wow. Are you just playing dumb and are simply dishonest or are you truly this frickin' stupid?

You lied about me multiple times in the quoted post below and I even quoted it back to you. Do you have memory issues? Are you a morning drinker?
I see your side suppressing white voters
Obama specialized in it
He even said publicly that democrats no longer need the white vote
But if you lose 100 guaranteed black congressional seats between now and 2028 its your own fault

Agreed Trump's wall doesn't stop illegal immigration since they have boat, tunnel and air travel technology. It doesn't do shit about stopping drugs.

Are you saying the laws are sufficient but it's strictly an enforcement issue? Why doesn't Trump have ICE arrest those hiring and supporting illegals by renting to them?

It only makes things a little harder. We have laws against murder, frankly since the Ten Commandments, and people still kill. We have laws against drunk driving, people still get behind the wheel, we have laws against stealing, people still steal

The idea is to make it harder and to protect your assets the best you can

Due to 40 years of being in the field, I'm big on "results count" and a supporter of both cost/benefit analysis and risk/benefit analysis. Blowing billions annually on a measure physical measure that "only makes things a little harder" isn't as efficient as enforcing laws and imprisoning the Americans who are hiring, exploiting and profiting off of illegal immigration.

IMO, "the Wall" is a distraction away from the corporations that are profiting off the status quo. The Bleeding Hearts want to save all the puppies and kittens in the world, but the Greedy Old Pedos seek to exploit illegals for profit. This is why Congress, both Left and Right, refuse to pass immigration reform.

Wouldn't need to.

You guys already gerrymandered the crap out of the country. More gerrymandering would be pointless, given how badly Trump is alienating suburban women and Hispanics.

An unpopular war and inflation and rising unemployment? You guys are so screwed.
LOL. Democrats invented gerrymandering and have pretty much gerrymandered about everything they could. Republicans are only playing catch up, which is why they have the advantage. They have a lot more they can gerrymander as democrats are already mostly gerrymandered.

This should be the end of segregated districts nationwide.
It's rather funny to hear democrats basically claim that blacks can't win without gerrymandering while the proof actually shows that blacks can win without cheating, including House seats, Senate seats, and even the presidency. Democrats have very low opinions about blacks.

All I could find was this:
Gerrymandering is the practice of setting boundaries of electoral districts to favor specific political interests within legislative bodies, often resulting in districts with convoluted, winding boundaries rather than compact areas. The term "gerrymandering" was coined in 1812 after a review of the redistricting maps of Massachusetts set by Governor Elbridge Gerry noted that one of the districts looked like a mythical salamander.

Governor Gerry was a Democratic-Republican. Obviously several things have changed in the US since the War of 1812.

I support a neutral body only redistrict after the census, but believe it would take a State-supported Constitutional amendment to make it happen.

You might want to read the fine print on that one, Struth.

The left is all about sex, all the time with anyone they choose

That is the culture in New York City and trump used to party with them

Your side is losing black voters to trump so the race card is not what it used to be for you
Black folks are not flocking to Trump, 86% of us are not falling for that BS

You are sticking your head in the sand. Look at Illinois districts, just to name one state.

Could we get honest? both party's are a mess. We need Good people from both party's, That work for US the 70% of the population that cant afford to buy a congress person, or afford the multi millions it's now required to run for any major office.

Trump nearly doubled the amount of black voters he got, from 8 percent in 2020 to 15 percent in 2024

That’s massive

And 2020 and 2024 had the two highest voter turnouts ever

Voters who didn’t vote in 2020, but voted in 2024 by far supported Trump 1. Voter turnout, 2020-2024
More than any other Repub President.

You're free to run from the question just like you're free to insult me for correcting you and asking a question.

MAGAts are all evil liars. They, like all Satan worshipers, won't last long.

on which one?
It's a big bill, but take your comment on tips.

trump big beautiful bill details on tips

The "no tax on tips" provision in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), signed into law on July 4, 2025, is a federal income tax deduction for workers in service-heavy industries. While it does not eliminate all taxes on tips (payroll and state taxes still apply), it allows eligible workers to deduct up to $25,000 of reported cash tips from their taxable income. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Key Details on Tip Provisions
  • Max Deduction: Up to $25,000 annually for individuals or per tax return for married filers.
  • Income Phase-out: The benefit begins to phase out for those with a Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) over $150,000 (single) or $300,000 (married filing jointly).
  • Eligible Occupations: Limited to jobs that "customarily receive tips," such as bartenders, waiters, casino dealers, and barbers. The Treasury Secretary maintains the official list of eligible job categories.
  • Duration: The provision is temporary, currently set to apply for tax years 2025 through 2028.
  • Retroactivity: The law applies to tips earned throughout 2025, meaning workers can see the impact when filing their 2025 tax returns in 2026. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9]

Critical Limitations
  • Federal Income Tax Only: Workers are still responsible for paying Social Security and Medicare (payroll) taxes on their tips, as well as any applicable state and local taxes.
  • Reporting Requirements: Only cash tips reported to employers for payroll tax withholding are eligible for the deduction.
  • Standard vs. Itemized: The deduction is available regardless of whether you take the standard deduction or itemize your return. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Wider Impact
The Internal Revenue Service notes that this policy change is part of a broader tax-and-spending package that also includes a "no tax on overtime" provision and an increased Child Tax Credit. Opponents argue the policy creates an unfair burden by taxing different types of income differently (e.g., a waiter vs. a line cook), while proponents view it as a direct win for the service-industry workforce. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

I just posted a link and you didn't even acknowledge it. The fact is, Republicans have a lot more to gain from gerrymandering and the Supreme Court decision because democrats have been cheating for far too long and don't have as much room to cheat further. But, God bless them, they still try anyway, like in Minnesota recently where lawmakers refused to remove dead people from the voting rolls.

Hmm. I wouldn't necessarily cal it "cheating" Until this decision, the Supreme Court blessed their racial discrimination in drawing districts as a remedy for segregation in the 60s.
