Suit: Police chasing white suspect wrongly arrest Black man

Understand something. It doesn't make one squirt of piss difference whether police can articulate why someone is suspicious. Failure to comply with a lawful order IMMEDIATELY results in suspicion AND is a criminal act in and of itself.

Here are two scenarios:

Scenario 1:

Police: (looking for a suspect) FREEZE

Person Simply Walking: Dindu Nuffin (keeps walking like an idiot)

Police: Take him down

(gets booked and spends a night in jail)

Scenario 1A:

Police: Take him down

(fight breaks out)(person simply walking dies in a shootout)
(stupid family members cry on TV about dindu nuffin and justice)

Scenario 2:

Police: (looking for a suspect) FREEZE

Person Simply Walking: (freezes)

Police: Get on the ground

Person Simply Walking: (gets on the ground)

Police: (cuffs person simply walking) (ask) What are you doing here?

Person Simply Walking: Walking home

Police: Where are you coming from?

Person Simply Walking: The store 2 streets over

Police: When did you leave

Person Simply Walking: About 10 minutes ago

Police: Did you see this guy (shows photo)

Person Simply Walking: Yeah, he ran that way.

(3 minutes later)

Police: We caught the fleeing suspect. Thank you for cooperating. You are free to go. Have a nice evening.

Reminds me a of an incident when I was approached by a cop for not doing anything.

I was sitting in my car, waiting, on a bridge. Cop pulls up in his car and asked me what I was doing. I told him. He explained that a lot of people got into trouble on that bridge.

I didn't know what he was talking about, and told him I would happily move to another place to wait.

End of story.

I guess I could have tried telling him to mind his own business, that I Dindu Nuffin and he should fuck off. Maybe that would have worked out better.

Or worse.

Yes, we'll call that Scenario 3:

Police: What are you doing here?

Correll: MAN, WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT? DINDU NUFFIN!!!!

Police: Sir, please step out of the vehicle

Correll: Fuck you, pig. I am LEAVING.

Police: SIR. TURN OFF YOUR IGNITION AND HAND ME THE KEY NOW

Correll: Fuck you pig!!! hahahahahahahaaaa! (speeds away)

(20-car police chase ensues)
(Correll flees on foot)(police tackle Correll a few blocks later)
(Correll grabs the police taser and tries to disable an officer to take his service weapon and kill others)
(Correll dies of 30 gunshot wounds)
(Correll's family cries on TV sobbing, "dindu.....NUFFIN")
(Natural Selection wins again)

99.9999999% of these bad police encounter issues would be resolved with very limited burden on civilians if everyone would immediately cooperate with police.

Everyone here knows it. They are just ass hurt because they know we are fucking right and they are wrong....AGAIN!!!

The problem is finding someone simply walking home as suspicious.

If the police found me as suspicious, I simply obey their orders, and nothing happens to me. Not only did I not get hurt or killed, but in the process helping our police which we citizens don't do enough of.

I am pro-police. If possible, I do whatever I can to help because those are the people on the front lines fighting crime to help keep the rest of us be safe. The more criminals they take off the street, the safer it is for me and my tenants. For instance.......

I have nine motion detector lights on the outside of my property. If police are chasing somebody, they can easily see that the suspect may have cut through (or hiding) in my yard by all the lights being on. It also helps them see better if they need to search my property for the suspect, and yes, that did happen in the past.

Last summer I had security cameras installed on the front of my property. It's been kind of quiet here since until a few weeks ago. A drug deal must have went bad and the guy in one car shot at the other. One person was injured with a bullet wound, and the only description of the shooters vehicle was a white or silver four door car. I contacted a detective and he told me to look for two vehicles (one black, one white) traveling at a high rate of speed and gave me a time frame of when it took place. I found the vehicles involved on the video, put it on a jump drive, and took it to the police station. The detective told me that video will be very helpful in their investigation......... we'll see.

In any case, the more we can help our police, the more effective they are in getting criminals out of our neighborhood. I don't expect everybody in my city to install a high tech security camera system, or even line their property with motion detector lights, but something so simple like cooperation from the public is still doing your part. It makes the job of police much easier.

How dare you try to help police!!! Sell out!!!

Years ago when I was delivering home medical equipment, I was approached by black police officers because I was a white guy in the projects. The only reason a white guy would be in the projects is for a drug purchase. I was in a clearly marked van with medical equipment in it, in uniform, but cops can't take any chances. They asked for my ID, the company phone number, the name of my boss, everything.

They were very thankful for my cooperation (something they likely didn't get much of in that neighborhood) and one of those times, the officer escorted me to our customer and back to the van stating it wasn't safe for a white guy to be there alone.

If anyone cares, the cop that approached me was also black. I was not in the hood, but it was close to a college. I suspect they got plenty of stupid flack from various types of Dindu Nuffins.

And he seemed pretty happy with my response(s) too.

That may not be gator's or pknopp's intent, but that will DEFINITELY be the result if we leave it to them.

This is how it will always go down:

Police: Get on the ground

Suspect: Dindu Nuffin

Police: ON THE GROUND NOW

Suspect: Pursuant to the 4th, 5th, and 14th Amendments, I have.....

Police: Take him down

Suspect: Help....Help...dindu nuffin. I can't breath. (grabs police service weapon)(promptly dies of multiple gunshot wounds)

Suspect's Stupid Family: He dindu nuffin. Day kill him fo no reason....

We all get stupider.

Kinda reminds me of that bodaga worker in NYC. The guy is pissed off because the clerk said his gf's snaps card was out of money. So he goes in and starts assaulting the clerk. The clerk pulled out a knife and killed the guy. He was charged with murder, but because of public pressure, forced them to let the worker go free.

The attacker walked into the store with (what the media claims) a $300.00 designer tee shirt on. He gave up his life over a $2.50 bag of chips. How Fn stupid was that?

In the United States, a failure to obey charge is typically a misdemeanor. For example, in Virginia, it is a misdemeanor to refuse to assist an officer in responding to a breach of the peace[1] or in executing his official duties in a criminal case.[2] In Washington, DC, this law is utilized primarily for purposes of ensuring that officers tasked with directing traffic have the authority to direct motorists and pedestrians in a proper and safe manner.[3]
  1. Consensual Encounters occur when a police officer approaches you and engages in a conversation. This type of encounter does not require the officer to have a reasonable suspicion of criminal activity because the encounter is consensual. However, the officer cannot detain you or create the impression that you are not free to walk away. You don’t have to respond or comply if the officer asks you a question or asks to see your ID or your belongings.

What probable cause did they have to detain him? The call said nothing of a black suspect and they were chasing a white suspect which was reported.
No, he was in proximity to a criminal and refusing to obey a police order.
How many whites did they run by? He was innocent of committing a crime, so he didn't need to obey ANY orders.

Of course, the police came out of the slave patrol concept. If America was all white there would be no police, because everyone knows whites don't commit crime. Hell no we don't care about whether black folks civil rights are violated, as long as, whites are not.
More imaginary "history". Maybe there was some tie in in the deep south where you live, but cities like New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Cincinatti, Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, San Diego, Anchorage and Taos never had slave patrols, but they have had police departments for over a hundred and fifty years, Anchorage is the exception, it was incorporated as a city in 1920 and establishing a police force was the first thing the city did, so APD is 102 years old.

If a person is pro-cop, they are anti-criminal. If a person is anti-cop, they are pro-criminal.

We have demonized police to the point many are leaving their jobs and few want to replace them. I just can't figure out why violent crime has increased in these cities 10% up to 50%. :aug08_031:

I know, I have a plan: Let's defund and demonize our police even more. Yeah, that's the ticket.

So, when a police officer shows up at your house and says "get out, I am going to search it for drugs" you will just get out of your house and let them have it it?
Nope, you ask for a warrant. If they don't have one, you politely tell them to buzz off until they have one.
