Student loan program may come back to haunt.

So,? Car companies try to convince people to buy cars. Is there anything wrong with that?
No, as long as car companies don't try to use government to force me to help pay off other people's car loans. Car companies also don't have you pay the price for a car then give you a bicycle.

There's also the fact that car companies have their own finance arms, so they have skin in game on car loans. IMHO Universities should be responsible for financing the student tuition and take a fixed percentage of the student post-graduation earnings until the loan in paid off, they would be A LOT more discerning on who they admit as well as what curriculum's they teach, kid graduates and can't get a job, they don't get paid.

Trump will follow what the courts rule... Biden didn't...
Not exactly but he will only do what Congress is willing to pass. His Department of Ed did virtually nothing on the Defense to Repayment claims that Congress did authorize though. I really don't know why reddit deems her a saint on the student loan sub when she was the one whose job it was to start the ball rolling, but didn't, on forgiveness.

The loan forgiveness plans were all executive orders and said to be unconstitutional by the court... so Congress has zero to say about them... Trump can wipe them out on day one...

Good plan!

But where are the jobs that pay unskilled, uneducated workers enough to support themselves AND save for college?

Live with mommy & daddy until they're 30?
In the years between high school and college one can learn a trade.

Imagine going into debt so that you can attend a multi-year brainwashing program. What do you call such a phenomenon?
College Is for Coolies

This is how the Influencers limit the discussion. The few people who belong in college should be paid more than they can expect from any other job at that age. This will attract the most talented people and motivate them to study. Unpaid education is not the American way. It is Capitalism with Chinese characteristics.

I dare the millionaire businessmen who mandate this indentured servitude to only pay their brats' tuition and not give them any money to live on.

Tuition is bribery; it is buying a job. This class-biased scheme puts inferior people in superior positions. Every employee under these class-climbing bootlickers suffers. Same with those bossed around by nepos.

If that's the case, then college courses are tailored for immature minds.
Boytoys for the Richboys

Outside of the Preppy clique, college is for teenagers who are afraid to grow up. An unpaid student lives like a child. As a result, he graduates with the mind of a child. A narrow-minded emasculated shell. An easily manipulaed drone.

The Road to Perdition Is Patrician

Why do you identify yourself and the other taxpayers as having to pay for it? This class-biased system wouldn't exist if it didn't give Trustfundees an overwhelming advantage, so confiscate the heirisocratic trust funds and pay off the debts they caused.

That's a good point. My mom says that back in her day, getting into college was considered a really big deal, and that very few got in. Nowadays, everyone and their uncle has a degree.

Because... reality.

Imitate What Baseball Offers 18-Year-Old Talent

We can out-produce the Chinese (and previously the Japanese) if we make going to college an immediate well-paid reward instead of this insulting sacrifice. Student poverty is not the American Way. Forcing those who belong in college to become kowtowing rickshaw drivers is not.
