Here's the thing ... if mass starvation becomes a thing (as it has many, many times in history) ... then a years worth of food (assuming you can keep it) will see you through to the end.

Most people will be gone in a couple of months.

The design of a rocket stove makes for secondary combustion and no smoke. It is a very efficient stove and far easier to pack around than ten propane cylinders. Fuel doesn't have to be large either. They are very effective.

I used a buddy of mines rocket stove and it did work pretty well.
As far as packing around propane goes it would be in the bed of my truck. It'd also be good for trade I'd imagine you could get some good stuff for a tank of it.
If you end up on foot yeah that propane is gonna be pretty much useless.

I can my own fruits. I like them better than dried and they last longer. Nuts are a great source of fats and oil.

I havent tried that particular brand, but i have tried a few different ones. They all seemed about the same to me.
Some things are really freaking good. Some suck. But you take that chance at a restaurant, so..
Go for it man. If SHTF, your hungry ass aint going to care if those eggs have a weird texture lolz

I have a supply of emergency rations, but can honestly say that I've never eaten any of them. My only experience goes back to long rats in Vietnam--don't eat the chili, the beans never get soft. LOL.

My advice to my nephew that wanted to get into hard core prepping.

He lives in an area that gets 60 inches of rain a year so he shouldn't have to worry about water if he has a way to collect and store it.

Store up a very large supply of canned and dry goods. Rotate it out for normal consumption as it gets near the expiration date.

Store up buckets of rice and beans. They should be good for 20-30 years if prepared properly.

Get as large a supply of prepared (freeze dried, dehydrated) as he can. Different meals to go with the rice and beans. Good for 20-30 years.

Find a doctor to give him a prescription for antibiotics. Several of them don't need refrigeration and have a long shelf life. Also, if you do your homework you can get veterinary antibiotics that will work.

Store up and rotate out vitamins.

Get ammo. Lots of ammo.

Make friends with fellow preppers and have a plan to work together for security purposes.

Store and rotate out garden seeds. Have a plan to grow your own food to supplement your stored food.

Seeds from Home Depot and other commercial sources are useless. The hybrid seeds cannot be collected from your harvest and re-planted next season.

Heirloom seeds are the only choice for a sustainable food supply.

Just make sure the seeds are heirloom seeds.
There so many veggies out there that you cant harvest seeds from because they're GMO seeds and wont grow.

As for being anti-gun, I just picked up another 38spec Smith to go with the Colt Army 1911A1 (accurrized), a Ruger 41 Mag (loaded down to 41 specials) a Model 700BDL 06 and a 870 12 gauge. My model 19 got lonely.
