And yet, grocery stores were NEVER at a loss for eggs to sell.
Most stores here did have plenty of eggs, and prices did go up for them but never as bad as in some areas. Walmart's here were out for about a month.
With all the flu scare and destroying of flocks, we still had plenty of chicken and turkeys for the holidays. Stores still have plenty of leftover stock of turkeys, though stores never had their turkey sale prices like previous years. Cheapest turkeys were at Walmart for .98lb, and other stores did offer either lower prices on ONE or even a free bird IF you spent $150 on everything else. Those stores charged $1.99lb otherwise
Lettuces disappeared for awhile and prices skyrocketed for non-existent stock, but have now leveled out a bit.
And don't forget at the start of the Russian/Ukraine war, there were plenty of OMG, we can't get grains anymore.......yet we do still have them and prices have gone up
I agree much of it is 'staged'.
