There's another dynamic going on IMO. Bigotry lies at the core of what trump is doing. If you've ever watched Stephen Miller speak about immigration it comes thru loud and clear.
But there's a dynamic that's part of the trump regime found in all authoritarian movements. The demonization of "the other." Authoritarian regimes often blame specific groups for societal problems, diverting attention from the real causes and creating a common enemy for, in this case, Dotard's minions to unite against.
'Mirror, mirror,on the wall.'
Interestingly, and disappointingly, we see this: "The demonization of the "other". " repeatedly as the main trope among the pseudo-liberal, Leftists and Democrats (Demoncrats ?). As shown clearly in this post quoted and replied to, along with the positions expressed by the majority of Left wingnut, racist, elitist posters on this forum.
Recall one of your "great" (fascist) "leaders" and her calling her political "others"(opponents) the "basket full of deplorables".
Irony when she is so much like the majority of her constituents (and Leftists) whose career has been in wealth redistribution - of Others*, rather than real wealth creation by herself, to redistribute as she desires.
In the Left's demonization of the Political Right(USA), Conservatives, Capitalists, Capitalism, Free Enterprise, Profits, and all things not approved of by Karl Marx, they fail to grasp two key economic realities;
1) Someone has to create wealth before someone, else, can redistribute that wealth (which they didn't produce).
2) Time and energy they spend on stealing other's wealth to redistribute could be more efficiently and profitably (economically) creating wealth themselves** through their own efforts and then freely give away all they themselves have made = the real definition of charity, BTW.
* The wealth we deplorable others have created which she has spent her career living off of, rather than engage in Free Enterprise for Profit herself she doesn't find "deplorable" it seems.
** this is what your "what are fundamentally anti-American, anti-democratic policies" actually look like. USA never started nor intended to support near-do-wells as a main focus for it's existence.
