SpaceX Starship reaches for the stars. Complete success

Good grief, this is only the beginning. Again, stop being limited in your vision.
Why don’t you start saying something that is relevant instead of whining.

I have been reading your posts and can only conclude that you are suffering from an overload of sour grapes. If NASA engineers had your attitude in the 1960's, we would never have gotten to orbit, much less to the moon.

NASA is facing mass layoffs because the science budget is being slashed.

Moroner is a 1/4 trick pony shitposting troll.

Almost to the level of the DERP LORD, SHE WHO MUST NOT BE NAMED.

Again, irrelevant to the topic, which is that Musk is not doing scientific research and advancement, he's looking to make getting into orbit cheaper and more accessible and ultimately make exploration of other planets more feasible. You seem to think that we cannot and should not make advancements in space travel.

We spend way too much money building marginally better rockets and too little money doing science.

Science is the whole point.

You claimed NASA will still be able to do science.

It’s very clear that science is not a priority for this administration.

A previous poster said NASA ***** everything up. I disagree. They do the most amazing things, it’s just not entertaining for the low information crowd who just like watching launches but don’t give a shit why we are doing it.

I think you misread the comment or did I?
I guess you did. Space X, seem pretty impressive to me, with it's pinpoint soft landings of reusable boosters, back on the pad, caught by a clamping gantry in a soft touchdown, the number of rockets they have tested and capsules, both suborbital and to orbit, multiple rendezvous with space station, transportation of NASA and international astronauts. Our tax dollars are showing positive results on new techniques and new technology for the first period since NASA's Challenger disaster that seemed to paralyze that industry with fear or failure or mishap.

Okay, let's see if we can figure out the differences here:

1. NASA doing science is funded by money forcibly taken from taxpayers.
2. Musk making huge advancements in reducing the cost of lifting materials and people into orbit is funded by private enterprise.

There's a difference right there. See if you can come up with some yourself.

It is because the value for the limited dollars of NASA is not there. Their projects are massively overdue, and the costs have expanded in part due to it. The James Webb telescope cost ten times more than what it was advertised and was at least a decade late in launching. Project after project is the same. NASA was coopted for the green energy scam and has wasted tens of billion of dollars on the climate crap.

The only reason SpaceX exists is because of government funding.

If you don’t know that, you’re hopelessly ignorant of their history.

Hell, Musk got $4 billion just to develop Starship because they think they’re going to build a version to land on the moon, which is the dumbest mission plan I’ve ever heard.

Huh?? What? Where did I say Musk is doing a terrible job?
You took object with my complimentary comments on Space X and it's use of our tax dollars. One could be forgiven for thinking you did not like Space X for some reason, unstated. I just assume you were one of those anti-science Republicans.

The administration has to make some hard choices about where we spend our money and how much we're going to spend. I don't know if you've noticed, but we spend far more than we take in and that is unsustainable. NASA therefore has to justify its existence against such things as advancing transexual causes around the world.

I guess they should start asking random internet keyboard jockeys what they think instead of wasting time on all those eggheads with fancy degrees.

Thank god we didn’t have an anti science administration like we do now because otherwise James Webb probably would have been cancelled before it was launched.

Instead it’s up there doing groundbreaking science.

If you think science isn’t valuable, then fine. Cancel the whole thing and stop sending billions to Elon Musk.
