The point is covid-19 is still going to kill them.
Slowing down the rate at which covid-19 infects people does not stop covid-19 from killing them.
The only solution any epidemic ever has always been herd immunity, (ecept Ebola), and that is the only way you could have saved these covid-19 deaths.
Social distancing maintains deadly epidemics longer than normal, so kills more.
The fact it takes longer to kill them all, is not an improvement.
