Some one please tell me how did they get the holy spirit in the OT ?

Seriously dude even John wrote latter God has been seen and once again was Mary blind and all the rest?

Where is that scripture? The bible is in harmony so it does not exist, just by twisting what was said at best. No man has ever seen God. That is what John said. He would not contradict himself.

We “worship” Christmas trees?

I have never said a prayer to a Christmas tree in my life nor do I know one person who has.
Ever hear of false idols? WTF dose a Christmas tree have to do with Jesus?

John 14:9

Says who?

I'm an American and a Christian. The laws I'm required to follow are the laws my city, state, and country. And the New Testament.

I am not subject to any Noachide laws.
It’s very easy…
All the civil laws we have follow the Noachide Laws.
Where do you think the most common laws of civilization originated?

I never felt a Christmas tree had anything to do with Jesus. It is a symbol of the celebration of a season and the upcoming end of a year.

For one thing Jesus was not born on December 25.

***snip***

Now, you and your kids love to wear the accessories with printed Christmas trees. You think that it is a religious symbol, but in fact, it’s not.

***snip***

As you all know, the birth of the Christmas event took place years after the Bible. Also, the origin of a Christmas tree is even years after the Christmas celebrations started. Therefore, the Bible doesn’t say anything about a Christmas tree. So, you can’t consider it a religious symbol.

John 14:9
I explained how they saw the Father to you. Coll 1:15-Jesus is the Fathers image, an image is never the real thing. And Jesus own words prove your error in thinking--Our Father who art in heaven. A son is never his Father.

This is another question I can't figure out, stupid Paul says you need the holy sport in you to say the word out loud "lord" and the only way you can get the holy spirit in you is to be born again (Romans 10:9, 10:10)

So how does that work?

And how did they get the holy spirit in the OT if Jesus wasn't born and died yet to release his spirit? Read the book of acts.

Yea I know Genesis one says the spirit of God was hovering over the surface...

Moses placed his hands on Joshua and gave him the spirit (where did Moses get the spirit from? )

Luke 2:35 says some guy named simeon held Jesus up as a baby and he had the holy spirit in him. Mary and Elizabeth got the spirit with Jesus and John the Baptist in their womb..

Stupid are you and not Apostle Paul.
By the way you shall read the Holy Bible in the right translation, preferable as KJV

The encyclopedias are filled with information about the added pagan false god worship practices that the religion that came out of Rome added in both holidays they try to hand to Jesus but according to 1Corinthians 10:21- God says-One CANNOT partake off of his table and the table of demons. I believe Jesus would not accept either holiday. As well the bible warns about the traditions of men. Mark 7:13

I don’t associate the tree with Jesus but with a season of celebration at the end of a year. I see nothing wrong with celebrating the end of a year and the beginning of a new one.

I keep my religious appreciation of the fact that Jesus was born separate and district.

God looks down and sees billions of mortals partaking in that pagan filled holiday. Read the truth in the encyclopedias. Santa( satan) is stealing 98% of that holiday away from Jesus. He does it like this-2Cor 11:12-15--by transforming into an angel of light-him and his teachers he is behind.
Easter--named after a false God-Astarte--Ishtar-pronounced easter. Its in the encyclopedias.

I am not going to lay awake at night worrying that Jesus will deny me entrance to heaven because I celebrated the Christmas season or the
Easter season for that matter.

If you feel celebrating Christmas and Easter is a sin then to you it is. Don’t celebrate those holidays.

Again.............the gifts of the Spirit were given to those of the infant church because there was no "formal doctrine" established before the completion of God's revelation in relation to the New Testament Covenant of Christ. These "supernatural" gifts of the spirit were received only by the laying on of the hands of the Apostles. Its all recorded in the actual content of the New Testament scriptures, to include the reason and need for these gifts within the early church of the 1st century.

Some denominations teach that these gifts still exist, to include the miraculous use of these gifts. As proof there is never any objective, testable, reproducible evidence provided.......its all based upon, "Feelings", "Emotions", and indirect evidence that can be easily dismissed as not being the Biblical Example of an actual miracle.

The problem with many of these individuals, they appear not to be able to comprehend an actual example of a miracle as defined in scripture. A miracle is not defined as an unusual or unlikely event. Such as someone being in coma and suddenly awakening from that coma (that event is not unique.....it happens)........or someone's cancer going into remission.......only to return years later after supposedly being cured by God....etc., Or the favorite......someone getting up in a congregational setting and starting to BABBLE and another claiming they could understand this babbling as a language......its nonsense, these people are not speaking a language used by angels as claimed.

Look at a scriptural example of "speaking in tongues". What does the Bible mean by speaking in TONGUES? The word in Greek refers both to the physical organ (a tongue....i.e., Glossa in Greek) as well as the sound or speech produced by the human tongue (again.......Glossa).

The Bible explains the gift of tongues as the new found ability to speak in a human language new to the speaker. The reason was for evangelical purposes in spreading the Gospel into new lands never visited by the speaker before, an UNKNOWN TONGUE. It was one of the promised Gifts of the Spirit (Mark 16:17).

Read Acts 2 and its description concerning the use of this gift of tongues. The Apostles of Christ were baptized with the Holy Spirit as promised to them by Jesus before His ascension into heaven. (Acts 2:4-8) "And they (The apostles) were all filled with the Holy Ghost and begin to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit give them utterance. And there were dwelling in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation under heaven. Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude (audience crowd) came together, and were confounded, because every man heard them speak in his own language. And they were all amazed and marveled, saying one to another, Behold are not all these that speak Galilaeans? HOW HEAR WE EVERY MAN IN OUR OWN TONGUE (Glossa) where we were born?

Thus.......the speaking in tongues is the ability to speak in a new, previously UNKOWN TONGUE (Language of another nation of peoples). Some argue that only God can understand tongues and point to (1 Corin. 14) as evidence as some have the gift of "ecstatic" tongue (understood only by God). Why? Because this portion of scriptures declare, "If you speak in a tongue unknown to you and there is no one to interpret it.........ONLY GOD CAN UNDERSTAND IT"

Paul was not bragging on these people at Corinth, he was chastising them for abusing the gifts that were given to them to help establish a local church and turning it into something that resembled a paganistic ritual. They were getting up in congregation and speaking in languages no one understood, Paul said it was like ringing a bell with no one to hear it....it might sound good to the one ringing the bell as some form of entertainment but it was useless in serving the purpose of the gift. (1 Cor. 14:6-12)

Tongues are a sign to be used to convince an "unbeliever" from a foreign nation......but only if they could understand the language you were speaking. (1 Cor. 14:22-23).

In fact Paul calls the gift of tongues, the least important gift of the spirit (1 Cor. 12:28).

I am glad your here tonight...

To me that's what it says???

If you follow every single law and command you will receive eternal life but if you break one little thing your doomed to hell per the curse

Dont know if Independent addresses this later in thread, but what I know is -- there's no real concept of hell in the O.T. other than the ACT of breaking a commandment is a sin. And you must REPENT for those sins on your own volition. Not rely on the Holy Spirit to absolve of you of it.

That's the problem with that INTERPRETATION of Hebrew (Aramaic) that stretches the imagination to accomplish INSERTING N.T. ideology that did not exist in the writings.

How do you get from "shade" to "form" to Holy Trinity??? It's a leap of faith or a desperate attempt to re-write the original text.

It's a farce.

One of the best garbage perversions I've ever seen is that when Yaakov (Jacob) dies, the Hebrew says "Yaakov (Yig-vah) expired" and the KJV says, "Jacob gave up the ghost".
WTF!

It is interesting that if you read the first chapter of John, you will notice that when John says:

John 1:18
18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

From reading this, who do you think is being referred to as God? Who did Jesus declare as God? Was it not the Father?

Who then was it that Moses and the other prophets of old saw? Jesus taught:

John 8:53-59
53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?

54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:

55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.

56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.

57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?

58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM.

59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

Was it not the Great I AM whom the prophets of old saw? Was it not Jesus (aka Jehovah)? John was correct in saying that no man hath seen God (the Father) at any time up to the time He wrote the book of John. It was Jesus whom they saw.

Exodus 3:13-15
13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?

14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.

Hosea 13:4

4 Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

Isaiah 45:21

21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the Lord? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.
