Socialism. Trump is all about government interference in the economy, state ownership of business and government "partnering" with business (the standard statist code word for corporatism). He's also big on dishing out free shit, another standard socialist trope.

Moreover, when Trump is finished dragging the "conservative" brand, as represented by the Republican party's utter hypocrisy, through the cesspool - the backlash will push us firmly into the socialist's clutches. Polls already indicate that the next generation of voters is poised to do exactly that.

There are many combined interests who will want the NYC experiment to succeed. They won't be short on funding to keep the ball rolling. NYC will be the pied piper that will pull the rest of the nation down with them.

Sure. But the focus is radically different. Nationalism is about loyalty to the government - and when it comes to MAGA in particular, loyalty to Trump. Patriots, on the other hand, might hate their current government, because of what its doing to the country they love.

I guess it depends on which way you lean when these two values come into conflict.
