"Socialism" Isn't the big bad boogie word Republicans want it to be any more

Is it not performing?

Oooops. Guess you guys can't control your own government.

And why would we want to put ourselves in the same position?

Is it not performing?

It's amazing how it always comes down to this.

I just have to ask where you clowns have been while all of this was going on.

If the British people don't care enough to elect people to protect their interests, then I guess you deserve goodies in your waterways.

It's pretty simple.
Good way not to answer my question.

Hate me if you all will, but both capitalism & socialism are beneficial. And the USA is a COMBINATION of both of them.

They are both fine, as long as neither is allowed to be excessive, and are kept in moderation for the benefit of all Americans.
There is nothing socialist about anything in the US.

Socialism is inherently corrupt
It's not the corruption of socialism that bothers me. Generally, the corruption is a functional adaptation to a dysfunctional system. The problem with socialism is in its ideal implementation, which has government running pretty much everything. This is bad, not because of corruption, but because of the inherent loss of liberty involved with majority rule.

Government is inherently corrupt. Socialism is all government control. Thats absolute power.

Sure. But my point is that even without the corruption, even operating exactly as advertised, socialism is anathema to liberty.

Sure the state controls everything the people nothing

Socialism ~ a transitional social state between the overthrow of capitalism and the realization of communism.
Socialism is the first stage of the worldwide transition to communism.

Capitalism ~ an economic system in which private actors own and control property in accord with their interests, and demand and supply freely set prices in markets in a way that can serve the best interests of society.

Socialism is the death of freedom. Which is exactly why they want to overthrow our government. They want full control.

Socialism refers to the relationship between governent and the means/capital of production.

What you listed above are simply things done by the government because the people wanted them. That does not make them "socialist" in nature.
