Socialism doesn't scare them anymore

So what you'r
I still don't get the logic behind shaming "fence sitters". If we were all "fence sitters" we'd have a lot better government.

I think we'd have a better government with a more non-biased MSM who is less motivated by money than they are honesty. We ween what all the Presidents went through, their family, even children at times. Who wants to subject themselves and their loved ones to all that in order to win a government job?

I thought you were a capitalist? Why would a capitalist think that the MSM should not be motivated by money? Isn't the free market sacred to you?

Or is your idea of capitalism a free market for a select few, while the rest are supposed to be good little slaves that only exist to serve you?

But I do agree - anyone that WANTS to be President has to be CRAZY and should be automatically barred from the position (Catch 22).

The Presidency should be filled by conscripture only.

They can still make money without lying to the people or exaggerating stories. It seems that politics has seeped into every nook and cranny in our society today including the press. Years ago before cable television, the media did lean left, but they didn't lie about the right either. They didn't tell only part of the story, they also told the part of the story that explained the Republicans position.

Today the MSM is more or less to brainwash people. You can read the results in USMB. We have leftists out here blaiming a Republican President for Democrats destroying Democrat cities, all because of what a cop in another Democrat city did to a black guy. Nobody with an ounce of common sense can come to that conclusion. It's brainwashing that does it.

So what you're saying is that businesses should have restrictions that ensure that they don't violate the public interest...correct?

"Freedom of the Press is for those who own one"

I didn't say that either. Just pointing out we would have better candidates to choose from if the MSM was not like it is today. I'm also pointing out how politicized our media is.
And I'm just pointing out that the same rules of capitalism that you want applied to yourself should apply to everyone - including the MSM.

I, on the other hand, believe that there should be regulation to ensure that all business do not violate the public's interest.

Right. And how capitalism does that is called ... competition.

What you want to do is have the retarded kid grade the advanced math student's homework. Yeah, politicians and bureaucrats are going to make markets work better. You're just drowning in kool-aid, Vladimir

If you worship the free market, then by definition government intervention will always be bad.

But if you're concerned with humanity and such concepts as fairness, then the free market is secondary and government is the best mechanism for managing the market.

You can not truly have a free market unless it's a fair market, any more than you can have freedom without law and order.

BTW- I can guarantee that just about every politician in this country (except Trump) has a better understanding of economics than you.

They do apply to the MSM. The problem is people keep going to their web sites, sending them emails, participate in their blogs, and that activity is used to sell advertising in which they make money.

It's kind of like the tobacco thing years ago. The tobacco companies held the position there was nothing wrong with smoking cigarettes. In other words, they lied to the people to make profit, and yes, were sued repeatedly for it later on.

Yes, the MSM is a for profit business. I do agree that they do not tell the whole truth - they lie by omission.

Their failure to openly and honestly discuss the truth about the Russian Covid-19 vaccine despite the number of people dying is a glaring example - they wouldn't want to undermine the AMA or American pharma companies.

But, it used to be that the news media made a clear distinction between reporting news and editorializing. It was FOX new that first stopped making that distinction, and it was FOX new that became very clearly and obviously politically biased.

Once the other news media saw how profitable it was for FOX to have non-stop editorializing, they followed suit.

I think that is true of the non-cable networks, but CNN and MSNBC are what they always were. Yes, Fox is right leaning, but it's only a counter station to all the others on cable and free television. One station vs all them.

I agree to some extent that CNN has always leaned to the middle (which you'd consider the left), but they were subtle about it.

FOX has been from the start obviously and blatantly far to the right.

Fox has leftists on all day to speak for themelves.

And CNN leans to the middle?

FOX has always paid people to pretend they're liberals and to intentionally lose the arguments. The ultimate live strawmen!!

That started with Crossfire years ago.

Saying something you don't want to believe does not make someone a leftist.

I'm curious. You know this rhetoric is straight out of the Communist Manifesto, right? Do you know that?

And what does "worship" the free market even mean? You sound like an angry eight year old who's not exactly the top academic performer in his class

I've never read the Communist manifesto, but I don't believe you. I do know enough to know that Marx didn't discuss 'free markets' - he discussed capitalism.

BTW - I'm an electrical engineer who works as a sys admin. You wish you had my IQ. Dumbass!

LOL, you know someone knows they are losing the intelligence debate when they have to start crowing about their intelligence.

What makes you think electrical engineers or sys admins are that smart? You can do those and be pretty mediocre

No, you dumbass, you can not last as either an EE or a sys admin unless you're extremely smart. Those are fields that are obviously above your comprehension.

You're the one that questioned my intelligence. I just answered.

Crossfire was on CNN, dumb ass.

And obviously you don't watch Fox since you don't know all the leftists they have on there. They're complete asses, that they "lose on purpose" is just you digging deeper and deeper into flagrant ignorance.

:dig:

The only thing worse than having all those leftists on Fox is not having them and turning into an echo chamber like the leftist media that you worship

Oh wow, I forgot which network a show that closed many years ago was on...that make me a dumbass?

All I remember is that the 'liberal' on Crossfire was an idiot.

I watch FOX enough to know that most 'liberals' are strawmen.

It does make you a dumb ass to forget what network Crossfire was on when you specifically used that as an example of Fox bias, yes.

What happened to all this intelligence you just crowed about? Do you need a reboot?

So what you're saying is that you're too stupid to discuss 'Free Markets vs. Regulated markets' so you derailed the thread by nit picking a minor error that I made about which network carried 'Crossfire'.

Just the fact that CNN carried 'Crossfire' is proof that it was not a left leaning network.

How far left are you? Can you even stand up?

FOX has always paid people to pretend they're liberals and to intentionally lose the arguments. The ultimate live strawmen!!

That started with Crossfire years ago.

Saying something you don't want to believe does not make someone a leftist.

Wow, one show that ended six years ago proves CNN is not left? Your standard for Democrats is a line painted on the floor.

Funny how you used Crossfire to attack Fox, now you're using it to defend CNN.

Now that's funny

Crossfire was a far right leaning show that featured Buchanan and Newt Gingrich- two of you're conservative gods. It shows that CNN was airing right leaning shows.

Now do you have anything to add to the topic of this thread?

If not do us all a favor and STFU!

I fixed your post for you, funny how after speaking of your super intelligence, you didn't know how to spell that.

So Van Jones and Stephanie Cutter are "far right?" Wow, who knew?

I thought the thread was on socialism and right versus left, BTW ...

Since you refuse to get back on topic...I'm ending this discussion.

So you seriously don't know the correlation between socialism and Marxism?

You were parroting the Communist Manifesto rhetoric. You said you never read it. Which really shows my point you get it from the Democrat party

The reason socialism doesn't scare them is because capitalism, as represented by the ignorance, hatred and bigotry of Trumpsters, does.

Fox has Geraldo on their network. What about Chris Wallace? Alan Colmes was as left as you can get, and he was a host with Hannity before he went on his own. Judge Napolitano has been pretty left leaning at times, and I believe he hates Trump. They hired Juan Williams after he got fired from a liberal radio station, and he brings the liberal side to stories and issues all the time. Even guests like Dennis Kucinich appears for comments on issues.

Does that mean Fox leans left too?
