Youre advocating socialism and trying to cover it up with terms. Europe is in decline because of their social spending over regulation of business and renewable energy. The NHS in the UK is collapsing. They pay more in taxes, have lower median living standard and have poor healthcare. Manufacturing is fleeing and coming to America. America is not a democracy and using the word social in this context means nothing. There is socialism and its never a democracy.

Of course EU doesn't have a problem because they spend no money on defense, relying on the US to add all of that onto our national debt. A lot of our 39 trillion dollar debt is what is paying for the EU's social programs.

The largest attack on US in her history that killed the most people wasn't an army or a other power nation...

It killed 1.3million US Citizens, more than every foreign war combined... It was a virus...

The R & D for the vaccine that fought that virus and eventually beat it was delayed and paid for in Germany...

Germans are just way more cost effective at defence...

The laugh in EU, political leaders really don't want to say they came up with something. They love to point to another EU country and say the robbed it...
The voters look at it as a sense of assurance that we are not inventing the wheel and we can see it working. i.e. less risk...

It is one of the big political culture divides between US and EU.... EU countries rob US ideas all the time... A lot of some of the best US social programs in Europe started off in US... Micheal Moore had a film about it once.

Right. My beef with social democracy, democratic socialism, or just socialism in general is the same (though I realize they are distinct concepts). The problem is the blanket dedication to majority rule as the ideal for making social decisions. Majority rule is fine when it's necessary to force conformity. Most of the time, it's not. Most of time, freedom is better.

We have the the read erroneously called social democracy.
All human interactions are social so that term means nothing.
There is socialism as a model but there is no democracy in socialism. Who voted fir Putin Maduro Castro? Elections are fraud in socialism.
So whats the intent of this thread. It isnt honest thats certain. Its an excuse to defend socialism by using an erroneous name that means nothing.

The more the state regulates and interferes with trade, the less free it is. It certainly sounds like social democrats want to regulate trade more than we do now, ie less free trade.
