Soccer is inherently Un-American

CTE begins with those knocks in the head at an early age and by now, most responsible parents should know that. Doctors don`t let their kids play football.

More precisely, if your kid has NO FUTURE playing COLLEGE FOOTBALL then he should NEVER play football because there is huge injury risk and no reward. Those who are athletic enough to have a shot at a college scholarship, they can choose to play. But young people playing football should decrease, wipe it out under high school, and the smaller type of high schools should not have a team, their NFL Draft prospects should be allowed to play for another team, join another local high school that has a team. Football does too much damage to young people. We should try to reduce it. We need to thoroughly educate young kids about the truth of steroid use as well.

If you have to take STEROIDS to play a sport, you should play another sport and stay off steroids.

The OP is a crass toad but he's right about one thing, soccer blows.

Things I'd rather watch than soccer:
  1. Curling - faster paced than soccer
  2. WWE wrestling - better injury acting
  3. Spelling Bee - more drama
  4. Golf - better to nap with
  5. Reality TV
Lot's of people love it though. Soccer edges out reality TV.

Like every other sport, the week to week "regular season" is boring.

World Cup is exciting and passionate, fun to watch.

Soccer is the metric system of sports. The professionals are crybabies who fake injuries and just generally act gay as a required part of the sport.

While we should encourage this effeminate sport in the rest of the world in order to weaken them, we should not look at its spread into our great nation as anything other than an embodiment of failure.

It is a boring game with Budlite written all over it. The sport should be boycotted throughout our land and perhaps banned for the good of the children. Maybe let girls play as they seem more dogged.

American boys should grow up playing football for toughness and baseball for hand eye coordination. I suppose basketball should be there as well. Soccer...never. It is for foreigners.

Let's face it....Any sport that can go for 90 minutes and end in a 0-0 tie is, well, just odd.

On average, approximately 20-30% of professional soccer matches end in a tie.

Americans want a winner at the end of a contest and we don't even like NFL games ending in a tie.
Not soccer but Football, money has damaged the sport it isn't the same from when i went to games with my Dad as a kid, now we have VAR video assisted referee, but it is still a game of skill, as for American football i find it as boring as hell, short bursts of play with guys dressed up like Starship troopers,if you want to see a rael rough game try Rugby it makes those American footballers look like big girls Blouses.

Lots of standing around waiting for something to happen in baseball, especially in the outfield.

I don't really watch to O and D lines. I focus on the players that have the football.
Baseball is also boring it was always a girls game in the UK called rounders.

So what is wrong with Starship Troopers?

Soccer is an ugly game, a bug game.

You know what is American? LaCrosse, and it used to be played with human heads.
;)
It's like soccer, but with undersized landing nets and heads.

Soccer is superior to American Football in almost everyway.

You don't need any special equipment to play it
You need both strength and flexibility; specialists don't last long in competitive soccer.
Rarely can you assemble a successful team without developing chemistry between players who often don't speak the same language.
Even more wonderful is that within the season, there are many times when strategy is paramount. Resting players for one competition due to a larger/more important match in another competition becomes important when your team is good enough to qualify for those.

As for being "un-american", the OP is, as always, full of shit. For one thing, the tie in soccer, is important in terms of the standings. In the EPL, the 20 teams play 38 matches a year. If you win every game, you can get 114 points. If you tie each match, you get 38 points. If you win no games, you have zero points. With the points mattering more than just wins and losses, you end up with intrigue in the races for the 4th position, the 6th position and the 17th position.

Finish in the top 4, you go to the Champions league
Finish in the top 6, you go to the Europa League
Finish 17th or higher, you get to stay in the league!

So games that would otherwise be meaningless take on a new sense of importance.
If you're in the top spot, you want to keep it...you almost always play for the win.

If you have two games left and you're up by 6 points in the standings in 4th, 6th, or 17th spots, you want to keep the tie instead of going for the win and risking coming away with no points. If the team you're playing is beneath you but closing in...you sure don't want to give them a chance to get 3 points.

Perhaps the OP is just too dumb to understand.

Nah, there is no "perhaps" about it.

Soccer is for the mobs and hooligans.
