So when did the Democrats STOP being Democrats?

When the party was created by two slave owners, and they party decided that racism, practicing it at every level, was the key to their power......
The democrats where prominent slave owners and fought against the federal government to protect slavery. But that isn't what I am talking about. I used to be a democrat, and back in the early 90's democrats went from bright eyed bushytailed enthusiastic open minded representatives to the late 90's "WE TELL YOU WHAT THE ISSUES ARE" dictators. Democrats told US to shut up and do as they SAY, because this is the new "democracy". Don't offend the persons behind the thing that is harming you... Illegals aliens? SHHH! Don't bring it up...its "racism". Well, fuck me for even being born. I thought OUR government was supposed to fight for US...not demonize us? This is what the democrats have become.

They have always been like that, they just hid it better back then....they supported every socialist monster around the world.....

I realized the democratic party was broken during Obama's 2008 campaign. He was accused of a being a closeted Muslim. But that wasn't the point. When you abandon standards, like the Democrats did, and just vote according to superficial race...So, judging someone by their race is BAD, SO A BLACK MAN MUST BE GOOD? Huge dichotomy I couldn't get past. That broke the Democratic party for me. 2008. The hollowness, the vapidity, and existential idiocy of the Democratic party and how they pander to anything to get votes became so apparent. Democrats WILL eventually pander to ANYTNING. Mark my words. pedophiles, cannibalism...you name it, that's how low the Dems have sunk. Most of you Dems know it, but won't admit it.

Good God, one Black guy becomes president, and conservatives freak out like the whole country's about to run out of toilet paper.

Obama was never a "black guy" to me. He was a lowlife street hustler and "community organizer" who only succeeded by way of affirmative action. He was a narcissistic under-achiever who was schooled at an early age in Marxism by his mentor Frank Marshal Davis, and whose best skill was race-baiting and ginning up class division.

He was also a druggie who sold dope in college, had homosexual affairs with other men, and whose mother posed for soft porn photographs.

I would be equally-disgusted by any white person who possessed those low morals.

2000 election. Gore was a huge douche bag during the debates and after election night. And the leftist fawning media was vomiting inducing.

The Clinton did it for me.
8 long years of scandals, lies and corruption.
I actually voted for Clinton. I hated Bush, and well, I still hate Bush. I will never forgive the Bush administration and all those 90's bootlicking democrats that supported invading Iraq. There where no Iraqi WMD's in 03' any more than Trump colluded with Russia...none of that shit ever happened.

My dear brother, (in California) told me proudly: "I'M VOTING FOR A BLACK MAN" (Obama) in 2008. I lost my religion then on democrats. Never mind Obama is as white as black, too. Never mind all that. Lets fight racism with ambiguity! Skip forward to 2016. I went from a stanch Democrat in 2008 to voting republican/Trump then. The Democrats have lost the meaning of democracy. Democrats 2022 have lost all semblance of democracy.

It was our most superficial moment.

You just said you hated the war in Iraq, right? In 2008, you had one guy who at least claimed he was against it all along in Obama, and in his opponent, McCain, you had someone who not only supported the war but voted to double down on it.

I don't recall Romney voting or saying he was against the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan. So why was Obama the wrong choice in 2008 and 2012?

I also remember McCain, the USS Forestall and that, too. That being said....McCain was way more a American hero than Trump can wrap his rich white boy privilege can wrap around.

It's interesting. You left Democrats, and I become a 'Democrat' voter over time. I'm not actually a registered Democrat but openly admit to voting with them more often as of late and I'm just curious as to why people tend to move in different directions over time.
