So, What Was The Bottom Line To The Chat Group Security Flub?

US Grant was a drunkard

Would you say, being the top general during the civil war qualified Grant to be a secretary of war, later on? If anything the former probably exceeded the latter in importance. You want to compare Pete Hegseth to Ulysses S Grant now?

His mission is just as important as Grant’s was

No one is under arrest

No harm was done

Until next time, except Greenberg won't be invited to the next meeting where they spew classified information and there will be no one around to call out this nonsense.. Btw Waltz's passwords including the one he uses for Signal are actually on the internet. No future breach in security there, nope.

Actually harm was done because this entire fiasco shows the US doesn't take it's security seriously, opening the door wide open for hackers, who were already attacking Signal to gain access even before this. Every time you display incompetence or ineptitude your enemies will try that much harder to exploit it.

Bottom line? These morons we’re discussing national security on a commercial app… and they do it routinely

I see lefty after lefty after lefty hyping this up for political reasons like some really awful thing. Yes, it was indeed a flub and should be learned from. Took me by surprise that we even have a group chat over a national security thing as important as this was.

But, what was really the bottom line of it all? Did it mess up our attack plans? No.

Did it expose classifed security to our enemies? Doesn't seem to have. As I understand it, the info was accidentally texted to a US reporter and, to the best of my knowledge, he did nothing nefarious with the information which would be traitorous to our country, therefore none of the flub had anything to do with anything detrimental to our country.

Yes, it was careless, just as Hillary Clinton's email server in her basement which could easily be hacked by our enemies was labeled extremely careless.

But, to the best of my knowledge, this is all a huge nothingburger being used as political ammo against Trump that does need to be fixed.
I have zero fucks to give about it. 🤷‍♀️

The incompetence seen so far from disaster administration 2.0's appointment of former Fox News staff, failed politicians and social media influencers is going pretty much as predicted.

Garbage in, garbage out.

You assume that the Trump admin does not learn from its mistakes

But I think they have

I assume correctly, because no one has taken a single ounce of responsibility for what happened. Everyone involved, including Trump has done all they can to sweep this under the rug and deflected to Greenberg. Which is precisely why it would have been idiotic to do what you suggested and have Greenberg bring his story to the attention of the Trump admin. This absolutely demonstrates that Trump will not learn from this. The only thing they've learned is to not add reporters to their group chats. In other words, "don't get caught."

And they succeeded

If it happens again you can say you told us so

But dont hold your breath waiting for that to happen

Hegseth put that information on an unclassified system but you have no problems with that.

Hegseth said that was grounds for immediate dismissal. I guess that was just bullshit.
I am retired but worked in the past. The information to which I was privy was not GOVERNMENTALLY "classified"----but if I divulged it I could get my professional license yanked. Many
years ago ---during college years I was a switchboard operator
in a large hospital-----now for the bad news----the switchboard
operator KNOWS IT ALL (at least during the PBX days)---
but even then---as a college teeny bopper---MY LIPS WERE
SEALED ----ETHICS!!!! it's just the right thing to do

I guess that means they won't be adding any new reporters to future war planning group chats?

Your rebuttal is an admittance that you know I'm right. Look at how yall love to run interference to help Trump try and cover this up, instead of demanding accountability and transparency.
The white house officially confirms that the chat group occured

Some coverup, huh?
