So, is the left denouncing Obama's "unlawful" war in Libya?

And now the Shell-Game begins...An 'R' in the White House = "Unlawful War" while a 'D' in the White House = "Good War." I make it a point to never ever trust the Left on anything. There is no real 'Anti-War Left' in reality. They're just Anti-Republican/Conservative. There are very few real Anti-War people out there. This Libyan War will likely go the way of Gulf War I. Ironically the Left screeched 24/7 about that War being "Evil" and "Unjustified." Their hypocrisy & dishonesty on this one really is just good ole fashioned fun entertainment. Stay tuned cuz their spin is definitely going to get more bizarre.

Why do you keep lying about my position?

If this was happening in poor Zimbabwe or Uganda instead of oil rich Libya, would there be US cruise missiles on their way to either of those countries? I highly doubt it.

It didn't happen in Durfar

In Darfur people were willing to do humanitarian stuff like hand out food and medicine and work out a diplomatic solution but there was never any talk of US Cruise Missiles and French Fighter jets.

If Bush had bombed Libya, there would be protests in the streets and people calling him a war criminal.

Right On. Left/Democrats don't hate War. They just hate Republicans/Conservatives. I never give them any credibility. They are and have been full of chit for many many years. This Libyan thing will likely end up being another Gulf War I. Many foreign Nations will intervene to try and get rid of Gaddafi. But the Left/Democrats just hated Gulf War I supposedly. Not hearing them screeching that stuff this time around though huh? Gee i wonder why? I think we all know the answer...There's a 'D' in the White House this time. It really is that simple in the end. So don't let the Left/Democrats fool ya. They're just being dishonest & hypocritical again.

Not to defend the Iraq War,but at least with Saddam Hussein you had a guy who brutally gassed his own people and invaded other nations. This Libyan War is a Civil War. This an internal conflict for them. Gaddafi hasn't invaded any Nations in the region. This Military Action is simply wrong and our Government shouldn't have anything to do with it. I don't care if it's UN Mandated or not. Our sovereignty and Constitution take precedent over any UN Mandates. This should have been presented to our Congress for debate and authorization. Hey i know they would have all voted in favor of bombing Libya, but they should have still debated it in Congress. The Neocons & Socialists/Progressives would have agreed to bomb Gaddafi but we still should have let the American People have some say. We should not be killing Libyans to "save" Libyans.

This is a UN action.

The lies of the right just never seen to cease

At this point, the only reason I think it's unlawful is because the Constitution requires Congress to authorize it. They haven't.

I don't, however, thing we have nearly enough information to determine whether this is a wise course of action.

Lib you and me both know why this had to happen, Obama stabbed Ghaddafi in the back when he told him he needed to step down, he basically sided with the rebels when he did that. Ghaddafi even said the only western nation that would be allowed back into Libya after this is done is Germany because they opposed the no fly zone, basically the years of work getting Libya to dismantle their WMD program and giving us access to their oil would be ruined, Ghaddafi has to go if we want to get in on those juicy multi billion dollar oil contracts.

Zimbabwe has got diamonds, but strategically they will not bomb Zimbabwe, that would look too damn obvious so they're trying to do by funding and secretly supporting opposition parties, the same way they did in diamond and gold rich Congo. Libya is Moslem and oil rich so they're using the civil war as an excuse.

Zimbabwe may have diamonds but they are basically a poor country, the people there basically have nothing to eat and those diamond mines are not in the same league as the juicy multi billion dollar contracts Libya has. The US is not going to bomb Zimbabwe and have the Marines mining for diamonds, if Zimbabwe had oil instead of diamonds we would be all up in their business giving them democracy, you can bet on that.

I don't, however, thing we have nearly enough information to determine whether this is a wise course of action.

The congress signed onto the UN long ago.

This is a UN action and is perfectly legal.

If you allowed kadafi to just kill of of his citizens who opposed him then it would open the door for the other countries in the same throwes of revolution as Libya is to also fire away at their citizens.

It was the best course of action and any sane person not mind bent by partisan hackery can see that.

This is about Ghaddafi killing his people? really? where were the US Cruise Missiles, French Fighter jets and no fly zones when the Basji thugs were butt raping Iranian protestors? where were they when Mugabes ZANU PF thugs were cracking protestors head open after another fixed election?

They didnt vote to go in.

Does that mean they should NEVER vote to go in?

Congress has no authority to delegate it's powers to the UN. It's absurd to even imagine that.

You had no problem with Saddam killing the citizens that oposed him.

This Libyan War is not only "Unlawful",it's also just wrong. This is a Civil War and our Government shouldn't have anything to do with it. It's just more ignorant World's Policeman/Referee shite. Like i said earlier...I'm not defending the Iraq War but at least with Saddam Hussein you had a guy who was brutally massacring his people and invading other Nations. Gaddafi hasn't invaded any Nations in the region. This is an internal conflict. This Foreign Intervention is unjustified. Period, end of story.

Where were the US Cruise Missiles and French Fighter Jets in 1991 when Saddam was butchering the Kurds and the Shites?

My guess is that some on the left truly do not want the US involved in another military conflict. I'd also guess that many on the right will simply try and use the situation politically to try and harm the president.
