nov 18 2025 Just the News reported that Department of Agriculture Deputy Secretary Steven Vaden has indicated his agency is engaging in data collection relating to SNAP across several states to see where funds for the program are going.
Vaden cited an instance of one individual getting SNAP in six separate states.

Another person had over $50,000 loaded onto their electronic benefits card. SNAP fraud gets worse when considering recent comments by Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins on “The Ingraham Angle.” Over 500,000 people were found to have been taking SNAP benefits twice, with 5,000 dead people receiving it.

While this is an interesting story and looks to be true, I hope you are not using this story to suggest we do away with SNAP?

Don't forget most people getting SNAP work. So their employers are being subsidized by the US tax payers. If we cut this off then those employers will be forced to pay more. I'm all for that but how about we raise those peoples wages and THEN cut them off of SNAP. Cut them off by having them make so much they don't qualify for SNAP anymore.

No but our government passed a law giving poor people food stamps because our economic system called Capitalism has failed them. Since 1978 CEO pay went up 1322% and poor people's pay only went up 18%. So the government has to step in and help the poor. Now you can change the laws but you could also change the ISM so that poor people can make enough to live.

2 children max received benefits up to age18 and when one “retires” then another minor child can step in while still keeping the household at two max

It was the Progressive Socialists of the 1960's that promoted the Great Society. The war on poverty that has not ended it after spending tens of trillions of dollars on it.
