Singing the Star Spangled Banner in Spanish at Los Angeles Dodgers game

did anyone break a law
Who says it has to be against the law?

It is sending a hostile message: we millions of people who are coming up from Central America are excluding you English-speaking Americans when singing the American National Anthem.

You never answered: what’s your opinion of MACY’s making announcements in Spanish only?

The Democrats of course.

In a way I am glad she did it. Seeing there is no "official language" of the United States, I say "good for her". And let us be honest, this would not have happened if not for you know who. She was very frank on why she did it.

After her "Star-Spangled Banner" performance at the LA Dodgers game, Nezza addressed the moment on social media. “I’ve sung the national anthem (in English) many times in my life,” she said. “But today out of all days I could not, I’m sorry.” She added that, given the current climate—including intensifying immigration raids that continue igniting concerns of racial profiling while targeting Latino communities, in addition to protests against them and ICE in LA—singing it in Spanish felt like the only choice that made sense.

I really don't understand why these venues hire questionalbe people who can't be trusted to do what you pay them for (even if unpaid), knowing these people would rather make political statements instead. Don't hire anyone for these types of things unless you know you can trust them to just do the jobs they were hired for. And, the singer was not honest with those who hired her. In order to prove their point, they feel the necessity of being dishonest.

She is popular for the Cali fans?

perhaps your performance would be better

Many were mad at the Dodgers for not condeming Trump's use of the National Guard and Marines. The Dodgers were trying their best to just be neutral and not get involved. They were tricked by this lady, who was dishonest with them about singing the Anthem.

It was a dirty trick, that’s for sure.

Not exactly sure what you mean by that. I doubt you would want to hear me sing but, like the Dodgers, I don't purposely get involved with political activism. Do you actually have a comment about what I wrote?

WTH? A foreigner is a guest in our country, and then sings OUR National Anthem in HER foreign tongue? Shit.

I was in a department store last week, and there was this lengthy announcement over the PA system -must have gone on for two minutes - ENTIRELY in Spanish. There was no follow-up translation in English.

These type of things are a slap in the face to native-born Americans, who speak English.
