I think Steinman wrote the songs. Todd Rundgren I think produced and recorded BOOH for free. He thought that much of the project.Notably, not actually done by Meat Loaf. The spoken-word part was Jim Steinman and Ellen Foley.
Great album, true, but best album of the 1970s? No way.It continues to sell some 200,000 copies every year. In the UK, only two albums have remained on the charts longer than "Bat Out Of Hell". Those would be "Dark Side Of The Moon" by Pink Floyd and "Rumors" by Fleetwood Mac.
Any way you slice it, "Bat Out Of Hell" is a great album...
He was one of my all time favorites, he put so much passion and energy into his music…he will be greatly missedBat Out Of Hell is the best 70s album. might post some of his songs later

He was born Marvin. He changed his legal name as an adult.I knew that.
Not sure where I got Marvin from...
Steinman wrote all of the Bat albums and most of Meat Loaf hits.I think Steinman wrote the songs. Todd Rundgren I think produced and recorded BOOH for free. He thought that much of the project.
