"you can't carry a tune in a bucket. one thing you won't be is a singer. you better find something else to do boy" - ML's mom

In one of his last interviews, Meat Loaf appeared to be losing patience with pandemic measures: "I understood stopping life for a little while, but they cannot continue to stop life because of politics."

I can appreciate some of the stuff Meatloaf did, but let's be honest - most of it was pretty terrible.
The Bat out of Hell album was all on it's own. Everything after that was just kinda odd.

I hope the guy had a good life, and rest in peace.
BTW - he was a decent actor.

i disagree. he has many underappreciated songs, some of which i will post now, some of which later

after his father tried to kill him, Meat Loaf spent Christmas alone on Ventura Boulevard, where he described the "gruesome glow" of Christmas. he should of written a song called "Alone On Christmas"

You've lost your mind.

Without a doubt it was one of the best albums of the 70s. There is literally not a bad song on the album. The most famous ones are not even the best ones on the album.

To each his own, it is just not for me.
Your first song sounds like 80s pop.
The second song sounds like a Queen wannabe.
I can appreciate his different voice. He had more range than most rock singers of the 70s era, but to me, they were kind of all over the map.

"One of" the best is different from "the" best, English and all.

First song IS 80's pop...it was written for the soundtrack to Streets of Fire.

It's different in every verse...each verse says two things he will do, and one he won't do.

No, I asked my roommate last night and he doesn't know either, no where in the song does he describe what he wouldn't do for love?

I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)"

And I would do anything for love
I'd run right into hell and back
I would do anything for love
I'll never lie to you and that's a fact

But I'll never forget the way you feel right now
Oh no
No way
And I would do anything for love
But I won't do that,
No I won't do-

Anything for love
Oh I would do anything for love
I would do anything for love
But I won't do that
No I won't do that

And some days it don't come easy
And some days it don't come hard
Some days it don't come at all
And these are the days that never end

And some nights you're breathing fire
And some nights you're carved in ice
Some nights you're like nothing I've ever
Seen before, or will again

And maybe I'm crazy
Oh it's crazy and it's true
I know you can save me
No one else can save me now but you

As long as the planets are turning
As long as the stars are burning
As long as your dreams are coming true-
You better believe it!

That I would do anything for love!
And I'll be there till the final act
And I would do anything for love!
And I'll take the vow and seal a pact

But I'll never forgive myself if we don't go all the way
Tonight

And I would do anything for love!
Oh I would do anything for love!
Oh I would do anything for love!
But I won't do that!
No I won't do that!
