Should public schools be investigated (for political bias) ?

To answer the question you posed in the OP…..YES. The liberal indoctrination is much worse than it was in the 1980s. Its most recent “effort” is to demonize Israel, and Jewish kids at the liberal high school are bullied and assaulted. The principal and teachers will do nothing to stop it, and the Muslims elected to the School Board are actively egging it on.

The kids are throughly indoctrinated. They know nothing other than 1) Trump bad, 2) ICE agents bad, 3) illegals aliens are good people who just want a better life and those opposed are racist, and 4) Jews are committing “genocide.”

After the school makes sure that all kids are in line with all that, they MIGHT have time to teach academics.

Great post & video. She's ONE person pulling her kid out of the public indoctrination factory , but all over America there are millions more like her, doing the same thing.
A friend of mine from my Synogogue has pulled her high school student out due to bullying and enrolled him in the Jewish Day School. He’s much happier there, she told me, and the education is superior.

(The big problem is that it costs $20K a year, but public school in the liberal DC area is out of the question.)

Local schools still teach woodshop and auto shop.

No not 'STILL'....as I explained to another lame brain in post 76.....there were several years schools did NOT include shop and other alternative classes but was done off campus at colleges.

Schools are moving back to including those options, but also depends on the school and district

I consider you a certified IDIOT.
A product of your own *****.

What career did you earn....... shitty painter that still rents at 75?

I went to public school, and NEVER once remember being 'indoctrinated' in the way you were violated hundreds of times.
Grow up.
I think it depends on your age. If you went to grammar school in the 50's, politics was not an issue. It all started in the 60's. I remember college teachers starting to go rogue and inserting politics into classes that had nothing to do with politics. It's just gotten worse from there. Today, we had teachers advocating for gender reassignment, homosexuality, etc. In the past, teachers stayed in their own lane.

It isn't really that necessary.

Folks know the teacher's unions are using the kids to push their agenda already.

...

Do we have to do this again? Non-teachers indulging in their imaginations. Teachers unions don't have jack squat to say about what is taught in the classrooms or how it is taught. They essentially steal money from teachers and pass it along to democrat candidates.

So many "experts" dragging out the highly persuasive "everybody knows."

My answer is a resounding YES. Public schools all across America have become more than places to learn reading, writing, & arithmetic.
They are (and have been for decades) leftwing indoctrination factories. I went through public schools from 1st grade to a college bachelor's degree, and found them to be exactly that way. A semester of graduate school at a state university wasn't much better.

Interesting how it took me decades to unravel myself from all of this indoctrination, and begin to see things clearly. In 1988, I recall my 2 kids saying that they like Michael Dukakis for president over George Bush. Back then, in the classrooms they got teachers advocating for Dukakis. I even went to the polls & voted for Dukakis, all without any of us ever hearing one word about Willie Horton.

The difference was stark, but many people never got the message.
Bush supported the death penalty for first-degree murder, and Dukakis not only opposed the death penalty, but also allowed first-degree murderers to have weekend passes from prison. Willie Horton murdered a boy in a robbery, stabbing him nineteen times. Despite the life sentence, Horton received ten weekend passes from prison. Horton fled, kidnapping a young couple, stabbing the man and repeatedly raping his girlfriend.

So is the situation in public schools any better now than it was in the 1980s ? I think not. It might even be worse, with all the TDS and crazy woke ideologies floating around.

Maybe the answer is homeschooling. Get the kids away from the indoctrinators and teach them yourselves. Millions of people are going that route nowadays.
And I wonder if these schools ought possibly be defunded.

Investigated By Who?

If you do not support the Department of Education because you don't think it is any of the federal government's business, then it wouldn't make any sense to have Federal Agencies investigate, nor would it provide any statues by which to be investigated.

If your children go to school, it is your job to investigate the curriculum they are being taught.
If you have a problem with the curriculum, then you need to address that issue with the school board.
If you have a problem with the school board then you need to talk to your neighbors and elect school board members that better respect your desires, and if that doesn't work take it to the State level, then rinse and repeat.

There are school districts in this Nation that don't put up with a lot of crap.
There are school districts in this Nation that won't entertain gender nonsense.
There are school districts in this Nation where they do still say a prayer before a football game.
And so on.

If your school district is not performing to levels you desire, whether it be at the Local, State or even Federal Level, seize your power and stop waiting for someone else to save your rear end. Then you can spend the money you won't be spending on an useless investigation, that at best could only validate what you already know (or should), and spend it in the classroom or on athletic facilities at the school, providing better opportunities for you as a taxpayer to have some damn control over your community and stop kicking the can to someone else.

... Covid brought indoctrination classes into kids' computer screens in their bedrooms, then seen by horrified parents, ....

You know what most parents really saw during that ridiculously failed experiment with "remote learning"? The ceiling above their student's laptop, a frozen screen image, or nothing at all.

And in some cases, do a piss poor job of actually helping the teachers at all.

Investigated for what, because it's not against the law for people to elect school board members, and it's not against the law for school board members to direct measures toward choosing a curriculum or assign someone else to. Parents are responsible for ensuring those in charge of their children are performing as desired, and there is no law ensuring that children are taught what you desire.

Schools are, and have always been indoctrination centers of sorts, and the problem a lot of people have is that they no longer have control over what their children are being indoctrinated with. Basic skills and knowledge are goals of a school, but they are also where children come together, are exposed to more than their family and friends and actually learn how to function in a society where they don't always get to pick and choose.

Even in academics the curriculum can be polluted, and it is important for parents to understand that their children are being bombarded from all directions in some cases and districts, but it is still not against the law. If you are concerned about what children are learning in school, there are ways to manage that, and I am not suggesting it would be easy. Take control of your life, your community, and make things happen.

Then send your kids to college and hope they don't come out totally screwed up, because you were smart enough to lay the groundwork necessary to protect them from nonsense masquerading as knowledge.

OK requirinf bibles in schools?

Anti DEI shit preventing teaching about slvery?

Reimagining the justifications for the civil war?

Any of these crimes ringing a bell in the empty head of yours, Son?
Actually, the first public schools used the Bible to help children read.

They even..........gulp...........prayed in school.

How the US survived that archaic Nazi past is but a mystery. They didn't even try to convince kids to have their sex parts mutilated. Why they did not all kill themselves because they could not have access to a sex change before they were old enough to actually have sex as an adult, may never be known.
