Should public schools be investigated (for political bias) ?

How do you know this.
I was actually doing this 'on-line' learning during covid (while you were doing what?) and NONE of what you claim ever happened.

You make me ill.

I did it for 40+
You are a LOON, a complete idiot.
Sadly it took them 3 years to bump your ASS.
How do I know it ? Well you might be living in the 1850's, but I happen to have television & internet and you couldn't turn the TV on for months, without seeing it. Are you just playing dumb here ? If so, not flying.

And nobody bumped my ass, moron. I moved to California, learned a trade, worked in high tech companies, & then opened up my own (very successful) business.

I don't "make" you ill. You ARE ill.
How many kids did you hide Willie Horton's name from, Mr 40 years ?

3 years he claims.
Then they fired his ass. protectionist
******* clown couldn't keep a job in Public Education........ <. LAME
Here's what "clowns" do. Commit a felony in front of hundreds of witnesses, as you just did.
That's what you call stupid.
There's libel on top of that..

We don’t talk politics.

Why would I discuss WH?
Or MD or GB?

You would frown on that, so why do you keep bringing it up?

Well even AIRHEADS need to be responded to. I have 2 bachelors degrees + a year of graduate school, cut short by affirmative action discrimination + taught economics & geography in 4 colleges of the City University of New York.

As usual, stupid leftist thinks links are the all-important, while disregarding what we all know, as described earlier in this thread (+ the OP has a link + sublinks)

Good case for the ignore button. Ho hum.
Any yet you weren’t brainwashed. Hmmmmm. Almost like you’re full of shit.

Exactly WHAT the "hell of a lot" is....is the question that needs more examination.

Mostly athletics, clubs, 4-H, learn vocational skills, art, hands on exploratory sciences, group activities, and the opportunity for kids to get together and do fun things, paint murals on parking spots for seniors, run the obstacle course, workout in the weight facility (the one on campus closest to where live would put some colleges to shame).

If you have a problem with what the schools in your district are doing, make the changes you desire in your community, quit bitching, and show the children how things are actually supposed to get done.

Do we have to do this again? Non-teachers indulging in their imaginations. Teachers unions don't have jack squat to say about what is taught in the classrooms or how it is taught. They essentially steal money from teachers and pass it along to democrat candidates.
This is ignorant twaddle, and has nothing to do with teaching, it is politics.

The teachers' unions have a big influence over local school boards and their elections. You know that, why turn around and deny it? The local boards then decide what the kids will do, and what they won't.

These folks then push their politics and let the kids have excused absences to promote their politics. And the unions reward them accordingly. Thus, the unions use kids to promote their politics.

They essentially steal money from teachers and pass it along to democrat candidates.

So essentially, you are using tautology to mask the fact that the teachers' unions control local politics and what goes into the heads of folks' children, claiming that it isn't the fault of individual teachers?

IOW, you said the same thing I did, but then denied that as the reality that it is.

...

In 32 years, I have never had anyone from a union or a school board come into my class and try to tell me what to teach or how to teach it. My brother is chairman of the school board in my town, and he never goes into classrooms to tell teachers what/how to teach. He's a teacher himself, and quite busy with his own classes.

We're not.
You remind me of the old boy network in policing where even the good cops refuse to acknowledge, must less confront the bad cops.

You always put your fingers in your ear and yell "nyah nyah nyah" whenever a discussion involves any sort of critique of those teachers who ARE very much injecting politics into the classroom.

No, they don't. Most of the money unions steal from teachers finds its way to state/national candidates or statewide corruption projects.

They use whatever is needed to push the agenda.

Otherwise, we would have never seen these parental protests at school board meetings against the gender ideology agenda. . .

Where/when have YOU actually witnessed this in an actual classroom with your own eyes? "Everybody knows!" is not an answer.

Again, you haven't seen anything in any classroom for yourself. You've just seen a 5 second clip of a parent getting pissed off about something at a board meeting.

And because curriculum and activities of what the students will be doing is strictly a local agenda, that makes you an expert on your school district only, not what is going on in all the other school districts.

That's some low IQ gaslighting right there. I already noted what was going on at my local school, you either ignored it because it did not fit with your experience, or your critical reading skills are abysmal.

I damn near pulled my own kid out of school the day the teachers let them have a climate march? Or was it using the kids for a gun control march? I forget now.

My answer is a resounding YES. Public schools all across America have become more than places to learn reading, writing, & arithmetic.
They are (and have been for decades) leftwing indoctrination factories. I went through public schools from 1st grade to a college bachelor's degree, and found them to be exactly that way. A semester of graduate school at a state university wasn't much better.

Interesting how it took me decades to unravel myself from all of this indoctrination, and begin to see things clearly. In 1988, I recall my 2 kids saying that they like Michael Dukakis for president over George Bush. Back then, in the classrooms they got teachers advocating for Dukakis. I even went to the polls & voted for Dukakis, all without any of us ever hearing one word about Willie Horton.

The difference was stark, but many people never got the message.
Bush supported the death penalty for first-degree murder, and Dukakis not only opposed the death penalty, but also allowed first-degree murderers to have weekend passes from prison. Willie Horton murdered a boy in a robbery, stabbing him nineteen times. Despite the life sentence, Horton received ten weekend passes from prison. Horton fled, kidnapping a young couple, stabbing the man and repeatedly raping his girlfriend.

So is the situation in public schools any better now than it was in the 1980s ? I think not. It might even be worse, with all the TDS and crazy woke ideologies floating around.

Maybe the answer is homeschooling. Get the kids away from the indoctrinators and teach them yourselves. Millions of people are going that route nowadays.
And I wonder if these schools ought possibly be defunded.

.

Big YES!

The teachers I know all agree with me. They're sick of the twisted BS.
