I have to believe that Hamas offered such lip-service to appease their Western welfare donors to keep the money spigot flowing. In connection with any position taken by Hamas (and any other of the Islamic terrorist organizations in Gaza / the Middle East), actions speak with the utmost clarity.
When Israel unilaterally withdrew from Gaza in a hoped-for land swap for peace, the palis had an opportunity to take their western welfare dollars and make an attempt at building a productive society. But as we saw, the Pali welfare cheats had no interest in doing so. Unfortunately, ”Palestinian Mentality” speaks volumes about the human condition of ignorance and a politico-religious perspective which devalues life. Those who are unfettered by a moral compass and who place such little value on life can be expected to throw their children to the trash heap.
The Islamic leaders in Gaza, not to mention pious Muslims worldwide, are crystal clear on what Islam's mission and goals are. Why aren't we? Are we so complacent in the assumption that everyone must respect the rule of law, equality, plurality, and other benefits of liberal democracy, that we are unable to conceive of entire cultures holding such concepts in utter contempt? Because the teachings of the koran, the sunnah, and sharia law are absolutely hostile to our way of life, and jihad is the primary tool employed by Islam to handle such a clash. It always has been that way since Muhammad (swish) came up with this madman's vision of a religion fourteen centuries ago: in Iran, Syria, Israel, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Cyprus, Constantinople, Spain, Bosnia, the Caucasus, India, and anywhere else Islam's expansion met with resistance from the native population, the jihad was used as the excuse for murder, rape and subjugation.
