Sealy, really, I mean if a guy has a SN that's Tech_Esq and he's in his peak earning years, why would you think he would be making less than $70k? Even now journeyman tech people are making $70-$80k. We hire our Senior Consultants at $90k starting. Only help desk people are making $50k.
I do everything I can to not be the guy "let go" right from the very beginning of my employment. That begins with who I agree to work for. So, in answer to your question, no I don't know how it feels to be fired and have to take a job for a lot less money. Probably not good.
I don't think I made any reference to the guy with the finance degree. So "you guys" must not refer to me.
I do have a job that's recession proof, whatever that means. By the way Sealy, the unemployment rate in the DC area is 4.7%. So, the area is fairly recession proof. Also, Hilton is moving their HQ to Fairfax county VA from Beverly Hills. So, if you need a job, send jingle mail to your bank and come on down. Either Uncle Sugar or Hilton will give you a bean counting job. Anyway, the census is just gearing up, lots of accountants needed for that.
I care, I just gave you a bunch of suggestions.
I'm not a millionaire yet, but I'm working on it. How 'bout you? You are so jealous of people who have some wealth. You know why I have whatever I do and you don't? Because I worked harder than you. That's why. Plain and simple. I did things you would never do. I did what it took to get where I am. Further, I'll do what I need to to get to the next level too. I'll never stop pushing. I'll never stop getting more educated. I'll never stop pushing to a higher and higher level.
What about you? What will you do?
Greed? Kiss my ass. I was paid for the work I did. Selfish? Kiss my ass. I don't ask for your pay check, just mine. Arrogant? Because I get paid for my job? Please! Like you don't get paid for yours. Have you worked for free?
I just got an unsolicited job offer in the midwest Sealy, you want it? I don't need it. Oh right, you aren't qualified for it. Damn, that's tough dude.
