England
Nichola Sturgeon lost her case in the Supreme Court to a unanimous judgment to hold an independence referendum without Parliaments consent.

Independence referendum: Scottish government loses indyref2 court case

I hope she does a Catalonia and holds a referendum regardless, so she gets arrested and locked up, the stupid bint.

So she thinks democracy is under threat, that a referendum was granted 8 years ago, the Scottish voted to stay and she's not happy with the result, so democracy is under threat.

I can see no difference between the Left of America and the Left in the UK, abide by the law, Lefties feel democracy is under threat.

Don't forget, you are all racists as well as Hitler destroying democracy.

So do righties:
- Election controversy
- 1/6 investigation
- Freedom of speech

Feel free to add any I've missed.

Scotland will be prisoners for a bit longer.
The british Empire never learns does it ?
When you push a colony too far it blows back in your face.
Their MPs should refuse to sit in the English parliament.

Consvatives are denying people the right to vote in this instance because they can..
When you deny people the right to vote they ecplore other means. They should blow up the tory head office. That is the logical conclusion to this mess. It would be a tragedy.

I dont think Mrs Sturgeon will back that but you are stupid if you think might is right politics are the way forward. The example of Ireland should tell you that.

It was Scotland that wanted to join England way back when. Just in case you forgot that.

Also, if Wales, NI, and Scotland want out (against the majority of their people will) give the vote to the English, because you all would be kicked out in an instant.

I am guessing that the reason for taking this to the Supreme Court was never because anyone expected it to be won but rather to set the framework on which they intend to fight this which is Democracy. The belief the situation after the Supreme court ruling blows away any idea that Scotland's union within the UK is voluntary, that Scotland is considered a 'partner' in this 'union' It rather shows that Scotland is not in a 'voluntary union and partnership' as has been said.

That seems to be what she intends on fighting this on - that and everything being lawful. She intends on using the next General Election as an election on Scottish Independence. Interestingly prior to devolution it was considered by everyone that a majority of SNP'S elected to Westminster meant Independence.

You're a bit of a back to front person. The people were given a vote as per democracy, even Sturgeon stood up and said, "Once on a lifetime vote". The people voted as per democracy and Scotland remained from the result of democracy. Notice the word Democracy throughout that, and because the sore losers are Leftwing, there's no democracy? You guys are special and retarded in equal measure

Blow up the Tory head office? Typical Leftwing violence. Those on the Right disagree, those on the Left use the threat of violence. Kinda quite telling. If you want to see racism in action, look no further than Sturgeon, she despises anyone English. You will have seen lately on the news that she said she despises the Tories, the whole of them and what they stand for. Yup, the Tories stand for democracy, hence indyref1 and Brexit (although Brexit wasn't law abiding, it was purely advisory for parliament, but parliament delivered the will of the people).

And there you have it, democracy in full swing, Lefties in both cases lost, hence the outcry from them that the Tories are denying the sore losers democracy.

Personally, the Group 'Leftwing' should be renamed to the 'Low IQ Cry Babies'

You rewrite history with a childlike flair.

The Scots were lied to during the referendum. They were told it was the only way to stay in the EU. That is a material change and voids the result of the 2014 referendum.

Toty lies just like brexit.

England has never been able to stop independence anywhere and the most they can do now is delay it.

Things can take time. ;) Are you aware that Westminster was humming about Home Rule for Scotland as well as Ireland from the end of the 19th C.

Lol, childlike, lmfao. Your irony knows no bounds.

That's the problem with democracy, the right to vote, is bakes like you that are stupid enough to listen to politicians. When's there's a vote, switch off the news all the way up to the vote and vote based on your convictions. Politicians are politicians for the money, the more someone is willing their mother in the back without a flicker of emotion, reaches the top of the political cesspool.

Same with local and general elections, they promise the earth, get elected, and do the opposite. At the time of indyref1, yes, we're staying in the EU. As time went by, UKIP became so prominent, a Brexit vote was tabled because of public sentiment. Indyref, the majority stayed, Brexit ref, the majority left. Very simple to follow, even the brain dead can deal with it.

And those that believe in democracy, abide by the results, instead of having a crybaby hissy fit. If they don't accept the result, twist and turn to feel they're right to oppose, they're the most undemocratic dickhead on the planet. By all means audit votes, and if the audit results in the same decision, then belt up and get on with your life.

Glad that you admit that both campaigns ere based on lies. Whatever gets it done eh ?

So she thinks democracy is under threat, that a referendum was granted 8 years ago, the Scottish voted to stay and she's not happy with the result, so democracy is under threat.

By the way, do you know that the existence of Ukraine as an independent state is illegal?
In 1991, a referendum was held on whether Ukraine should remain part of the USSRб or become an independent state. Then, the majority of the population of Ukraine voted against independence.
Nevertheless, a new referendum was held six months later and the majority voted for independence.

The trick is that according to the laws of the USSR, a second referendum on this issue could be held only after 5 years after the first referendum. The USSR still existed at that time, and therefore, from the point of view of the law, secession was illegal.

I wonder if England supports fascist Ukraine? In my opinion, yes. Well, since the English government does not know how not to be hypocritical, it is certainly against a referendum on Scottish independence.

Don't know about Ukraine, never been interested in them. The Scottish referendum was a legal binding result, the majority wished to remain. It was undertaken very democratically.

The Brexit referendum wasn't law abiding, it was merely an exercise to show the government the sentiments/will of the people, the majority wished to leave the EU. As UKIP were becoming increasingly popular, the government took the result on board and pulled out of Europe. It was undertaken democratically.

Sturgeon and the SNP need to move on, they won't get another vote granted by parliament for decades. It'll just be their undoing, more and more will get so fed up by her mantra, it'll drive higher votes elsewhere to oust her.
