School Staff JAILED for Not Reporting

Are we a village or not a village?

So you are not endorsing the phrase "It takes a village to raise a child"?

And once again, you jump to a conclusion that has absolutely no basis in anything I said.

You really do not think at all before you post something, do you? You must knee-jerk through your entire life.

The fact that every post is about me (boo hoo) and never about the issue means that you cannot converse on the issue.

Right, thanks, I knew that.

You are the one that rejects anything said that does not agree with you, and then scream repeatedly about "Conservatives".

Yes. By definition, if I don't agree with something, I reject it. Done yet?

Which is why you consistently fail.

Just because you reject something, that is not the same as saying nobody else has a point.

As I said, you seem to knee-jerk through life.

What is your point, other than making this whole thread about me?

SAY it.

1. Children are not in immediate danger AND
2. The parents/family are not perpetrating the danger

Secondly, if you think that schools are expected to report sexual abuse that does not involve adults at home, and is essentially based on hearsay, does that also extend to other crimes, again without parental notification? Why not?

Nobody said nor implied that the parents should not be notified.

Last question: is it your position that all laws are good and should be followed to the letter?
The law is the threat here....

It allowed a faction w/sexual agenda to influence our children, specifying sanctuary provided by these same sorts

as well as cutting out any parental rights

this became the job of 'teachers', 'educators' and or the educational profession because of the current pervert administration

most realize it does not belong in the system , and those states that adopted it are seeing mass amounts of resignations , early retirements , as well as 'school choice' being fueled by it all

I'm sorry you don't love the profession enough to call out what a raging forest fire it is right now. I figure you're about 10 years behind--I suspect because you're either not a teacher or you are in an, um, "unique" teaching situation.

Those of us who live in the real world are quite concerned and are allowed to talk about it. If you want to think it's because we "hate our job" go on flinging poo. Whatever.
Quit, you whining *****.

JMHO....what you teachers need is an NEA or whatever union rep to back up the fact that you've been painted a target for something that is nowhere within the scope of your responsibilities

Yes, because obviously reporting abuse of a student is not their responsibility.

This is not a political story about the gov of the state. It is more about what we SAY we expect of teachers and school personnel and what we really expect of them...which is very close to Jesus Christ status.

None of these people actually committed the sexual crime. They didn't report it, that's it--a crime that took place off school property and off school time.

It might not be correct, even--meaning, maybe they made the wrong call. My question to the board is: this this a jailable offense?

And if it is, who goes into teaching now?
Doesn’t matter. All teachers are required to report crimes against children. Any children. In California when I was teaching, we had to notify the State. Not just the administration.

well except this entire thread is her whine that teachers should NOT have to report it.

We say these things but we don't really mean them.

Some kid swipes another kid's lunch money, or pencil case, or even phone. We are REQUIRED to report that?

Do you know how many cases of physical assault student-to-student go unreported?

So now we already have a grey area, don't we?
