Formerly when Russians withdrew they mined areas like the schools they had bombed. Its part of their nasty routines. This has been going off and on since 2008 were you watching and reporting on it previously before Putin ramped it all up again?

The Russian army is using the tactic of surrounded the city with mines in order to trap the Ukrainian insurgents. So they don't have access to resupply of food, water, and ammo. Eventually starving the insurgents and forcing them to surrender.Russian obviously do not expect to return.
