As Gollum´s treasure travels even out of his sight, he suffers a series of hissy fits and his media trolls are throwing a lot of dirt.

"Moscow, SANA – Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that the Western allegations and accusations regarding Russia’s military operations against ISIS in Syria are illogical and incorrect.

At a press conference held in Moscow on Tuesday, Zakharova said that the Russian Air Force’s operations in Syria, which were prompted by a request from the Syrian leadership, prompted a smear campaign in the world media.

She said that Russia’s operations are based on the principles of national security, but the West is trying to give the impression that Russia is killing civilians in Syria, with some officials in states opposed to Russia’s operations repeating false allegations and incorrect information, while Western media bases its reports on unconfirmed data and unnamed sources.

The Spokesperson stressed that claims that Russia’s goal is to eliminate the “moderate opposition” are prefabricated and completely untrue, noting that Russia never received any answer for the question posed by its Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov who asked where the so-called moderate opposition is in Syria and what is the actual nature of the “Free Army.”
She addressed statements made by British officials who said that Russia’s operations in Syria are a mistake, saying that such statements are harmful and lead to destabilization, asserting that they aren’t based on facts or evidence.

Zakharova also noted that U.S. Defense Secretary Ashton Carter, who made statements recently about Russia’s operations, can contact the Russian Defense Ministry to verify information as the two sides had reestablished communication channels.

She went on to point out that the same media outlets making claims about Russia targeting civilians in certain areas where these outlets claims there are no terrorists are the very same ones who reported about the presence of terrorists in those areas before, adding that information about Russian airstrikes in Syria is available freely on the Russian Defense Ministry’s website and can be accessed by anyone.

Zakharova also denied the presence of any Russian ground forces in Syria, asserting that there aren’t any Russian volunteers of companies or campaigns for sending ground troops."

Russian Air Strikes in Syria to Last Three to Four Months

"Russian air strikes in Syria will last for three to four months and will intensify, the head of the lower house of the Russian parliament’s foreign affairs committee announced on Friday.

“There is always a risk of being bogged down but in Moscow, we are talking about an operation of three to four months,” Alexei Pushkov told French radio station Europe 1. He added that the strikes were going to intensify.

Pushkov was speaking a few hours before Putin was due to meet leaders of France, Germany and Ukraine in Paris for talks about Ukraine which were likely to be overshadowed by the conflict in Syria.

Pushkov said the strikes mainly targeted ISIL terrorists. “The opponents to Bashar are very close to Daesh (ISIL),” Pushkov said. US sources have claimed that the Russians hit facilities of a US-backed group, some of whose militants received training and support from the CIA.

Pushkov said the US-led coalition had “pretended” to bomb ISIL forces for a year.

“They pretended… Only 20 percent of their (U.S. led coalition) operations produced results, 80 percent of them did not lead to bombardments, they returned to base for different reasons,” Pushkov said.

Russia launched its first air strikes on Wednesday with airstrikes targeting terrorists in Hama, Idlib, Aleppo and other areas.

Pushkov said there were would be first contacts between US and Russian military officials on Friday to discuss operations in Syria.

On Friday, Pushkov also said Russian submarines with nuclear missile launching capabilities patrolling the Atlantic were a “response” to NATO’s plans to build up its operations in Eastern Europe. “These are the rules of the game…. So this is a response,” Pushkov said."

Russian Air Force Begins Large-Scale Aerial Campaign in West Aleppo

"On Tuesday morning, the Russian Air Force began a large-scale aerial campaign over the provincial capital of the Aleppo Governorate, marking the first time that they have targeted the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” and their allies from the Free Syrian Army (FSA), Jabhat Al-Shamiyah, and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham along this volatile front in northern Syria.

According to a military source in the Aleppo Governorate, the Russian Air Force carried out three airstrikes over the strategically located Scientific Research Facility inside the Al-Rashideen Quarter of the provincial capital; this propelled the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the predominately Palestinian “Al-Quds Brigade” to advance into the eastern perimeter of the building.

The Russian Air Force did not stop there: following the airstrikes over the Scientific Research Facility in the Al-Rashideen Quarter, the Russians struck Jabhat Al-Nusra’s positions inside the village of Mansoura; this resulted in the destruction of four armored vehicles and a militant hideout at the Mansoura-New Aleppo axis.

Topping off their successful air raids in western Aleppo, the Russian Air Force conducted six more airstrikes at KhanAl-‘Assal, Kafr Da’el, the Artillery Battalion Base and the Al-Samourat Factory.

In total, the Russian Air Force carried out 13 airstrikes over the Islamist rebel factions inside west Aleppo on Tuesday; this area was primary focus for the Russian Air Force in northern Syria."

Russian Air Force Flexes Its Military Muscle Along the Turkish Border and Coast

"The Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, warned the Russian Federation to not destroy their friendship with Turkey after the latter’s air force violated Turkish airspace on more than one occasion Monday.

However, this threat from the Turkish president was not well-received by the government in Moscow; instead, the Russian Air Force responded by flaunting its military might on Tuesday, launching a number of airstrikes along the Turkish border with northern Latakia, while the Turkish Air Defense sat idly over this blatant incursion.

As the Turkish Air Defense remained in a state of paralysis, the Russian Air Force conducted 8 airstrikes over northeastern Latakia, hitting the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” and the Free Syrian Army’s “Coastal Brigades” inside the cities of Ghanam, Salma, Al-Rabiyah, and Deir Hanna near the Turkish border.

Among those killed by the Russian airstrikes was the leader of Kata’ebat Al-Mustafa (Al-Qaeda offshoot), “Abu Rashid Al-Turkman” – his death was confirmed by Jabhat Al-Nusra after the Russians struck their positions.

Adding insult to injury, the Russian Navy conducted a number of naval exercises along Latakia’s vast coastline, while the Turkish Navy watched from a few kilometers north of the predominately Armenian city of Kassab.

Currently, the Russians and Turks have no military agreement set in place for Syria; however, the Turkish Government has made it clear that they do not support the Russian military and political interference."

Well isn't that something. Russia has such a great record of success in the middle eastern wasteland. I wonder how they'll do this time?
Russia is working together with the most powerful force in the conflict: The Syrian Arab Army. The Russian strikes are supposed to strengthen this army.

The SAA is a powerful army. When western armies run out of air support, their ground troops appear to be defenseless whelps. The SAA is fighting the most aggressive terrorists the modern world knows in all types of combat.

The false Western allegations and narrative become logical to those who understand that the propaganda is designed to coalesce Western attitudes around the idea that Russia is the enemy and is not to be trusted. Fear mongering in essence, not much different from the way the Western media manipulated public opinion on Saddam Hussein or Iran in years past. Americans are easily manipulated and if the guy you voted for is in office it makes the task just that much easier apparently.

This is a good description of the situation.

ISIS Fighters Hide Amongst the Civilian Population in Deir Ezzor to Avoid Russian Airstrikes

"The Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) has suffered a significant loss of life and equipment due to the airstrikes conducted by the Russian Air Force; this has forced many of the terrorist group’s combatants to move their families to safer quarters inside the Iraqi provinces of Al-‘Anbar and Nineveh in order to evade the swarming fighter jets.

Recently, the terrorist group has taken an old approach to evading the relentless Russian airstrikes – they have chosen to find shelter in residential apartments because the Russian Air Force does not target these buildings.

This information was provided to the Shaytat Tribesmen by the local civilians in Deir Ezzor City; more specifically, the residents of the Al-Husseiniyeh District, who have been harassed by the terrorist group for a number of months now.

The Russian Air Force confirmed this information to the Syrian Arab Army’s 137th Artillery Brigade of the 17th Reserve Division at the Deir Ezzor Military Airport after they reviewed the footage from their reconnaissance drones that are operating around the Deir Ezzor countryside.

ISIS has used civilian shield tactic before; however, in the past, it did not stop the U.S. led “Anti-ISIS Coalition” from striking their positions around Syria and Iraq."

Assad has killed 250,000 Syrians.

Islamic State has killed many Syrians, but Assad’s forces have killed more

And what matters to Putin is that Russia is distracted from the economic chaos at home.
250.000 is the official SOHR number of the total casualties. While SOHR is an Islamist terror supporting propaganda tool, their propaganda is not enough for people like you and you have to invent your own story behind this figure. First symptoms of Al-Qaeda hailing are diagnosed at Toro. A new and still common western illness.
