Yes, I'd say that Mitt Romney is electable and in fact that he is the best candidate on the Republican side currently running in terms of a chance to win the general election.

The big question isn't that, but whether he can win the Republican nomination.

A bigger question is whether anyone electable can win the GOP nomination. As the party stands today, I have my doubts.

Please note the downward worker participation chart from 2001-2009 compared worker participation rate 1991-2001! Basically, the recovery from the Clinton Recession of 2001 had a jobless recovery. That's about the same time shipping jobs overseas started it's rise, despite lowering the Capital Gains tax to a record low.

All of the Republicans in my family and friends that I have spoken to about the GOP primary have said that Romney is the only choice right now they would vote for out of the current candidates. I doubt Perry has a chance to win in a General Election.
