I'm honestly not sure how much Biden was "invested" in BBB. Obviously he had to give the progressives their shot at what they thought they won, but also obviously, they didn't have real majorities in either chamber to revamp taxes and the econ, and in the end they just tried to expand welfare.

I suspect McConnell would rather embrace some modest bipartisanship on issues with 60 votes, to put a stake in Trump's heart, and challenge McCarthy to not act on things 60% of Americans want.
