Return of the Devil: Exorcism's Comeback in the Catholic Church

Pope Francis may be a liberal on issues like global warming, capitalism, and environmentalism, but he's "Old School" on Satan and demon possession.

The Church's position is that as people get more involved in New Age, occult, astrology, and what not, the more people become prone to demon possession. So they've ramped up training of exorcists.

So show us. Bring out someone who is possessed. Put that person in front of a camera and show the world demonic possession. I want to see some chick's head spin 360 degrees while she spits out pea soup and makes the bed hop around in the air. Stop fucking around with the "but it's totally real, trust us, we're professionals, but it's only in secret" and show the world a demon and how you get rid of it.

You'd think that as more people conjure up demons and devils and stuff at least one would get caught on some kid's phone and end up on Youtube or World Star Hip hop or Youporn or something.

It's all just bullshit.

Demon possession and exorcism is in the Bible. For some people, that's reason enough to believe it.

They thought demons possessed disabled people and spirits came out their nose when they sneezed, BRILLIANT!
That's so evil and insensitive towards and against disabled people.
Fact: according to the NT (rev 1)the devil is just representative and symbolic of the source and power of death and destruction
just as God is representative of that power and source of life. Devil is the adversary-opposite that power to live as in death the opposite of having "lived" is (reverse the word)= devil.
John apochryphon admits they borrowed much from Zoroastrianism with it's duality teachings.
The symbolism of the source of death and destruction was the symbol of the cross predating the mithraic or Jesus symbol & mythologies. The 2 horn scarlet symbol referred to horns=powers, Rome(scarlet colors) being the source of death and destruction was symbolized with the 2 horn power system of Politics masked and hidden behind the religious authority thus the 2 horn red devil symbolized Rome's controling Power through death worship.

Outside of divine-rape parthenogenesis, the idea of anthropomorphized "devils" has gotta be the most wackadoo idea the church ever came up with.

A "demon" is something what manipulates a brain from outside. An "exorcism" is a method to stop such a manipulation. Both things are possible. The much more funny thing is, what the people in the western world think about what an exorcism is, since the american film "The Exorcist" from the year 1973 started to manipulate lots of brains. An exorcism of the holy catholic church are completly harmless prayers - that's all. The power is in the belief. So not everyone is allowed to use this prayers any longer. What's a result of this film and the wrong ideas about exorcism too. So only specially qualified priests are allowed to do an exorcism. An exorcism is often a last desperated step if nothing else helps any longer.

Magie ist Macht.
Macht ist Verführung.
Nur Liebe ist Erlösung.

Only love saves.

Well, before you make up your mind, go out in the world and see if you can find an exorcism. Every Catholic diocese has a designated exorcist, so give him a ring. Maybe he'll let you in for ride along.

So they go around finding people with dissociative disorders who's split personality is mimicking perceived demons, why not start with Pastor Ron Parsley first?

who said it ever left it? and so what. I'm watching a show right now on the paranormal, ghost and spirits. it's all what you believe is all. some believe it and some don't .

The Catholic church has always had a priest or bishop capable of conducting exorcisms in each diocese. That's nothing new.

"Hi. Can you let me know the next time you have to expel the Devil from some kid's head? I want to watch you do it.

Hello?...Hello?"
