That's your opinion. The reality is not so simple to those in developing nations. Children in these countries work because the country was so unproductive that the children have to. If they didn't, families would starve to death. Low productivity brings low wages. First world nations don't have child labour (except for Hong Kong), because the parents can make enough to support their children. Hell, there are even mothers who raise their children on their own these days. This could never be accomplished in a low productive nation which are in the mist of developing.

A personal anecdote: my paternal grandmother cried when I read this to her, visiting from college, around 1967 or maybe 1968 before I fucked up and got drafted. Her husband, my grandfather was the first man to die in my arms. That was Nov 26, 1963. The world changed for many that week.

He had worked the mines from around nine or ten until they needed him on the farm, where in slow times he'd walk five miles to caddy for a nickle a round (nine holes, then). Still in his teens, he was drafted into WWI where he served as an infantryman going north from Chateau Thiery. At nine years old she went to work cleaning hotel rooms, a VERY good job and relatively safe (rapes were rare) for a girl, pre WWI. By 1930 they owned 300 acres and raised cattle on more.
