Republicans have a poor understanding of economics. They should have no place in making policy

Correct me if I'm wrong on this but didn't Barack Obama campaign back in 2008 that he had the answers to our economic problems and job losses and was going to "hit the ground running" to fix things as soon as he was elected?

So what happened?

I know you desperately want to blame the worst recovery from a recession in the last eighty years on the GOP, Dad but when the Democrats had control of the House, Senate and Oval Office...that's a bit of a "hard sell"!

The truth of the matter is that instead of concentrating on the economy and jobs right from the start...the progressives that dominate Obama's administration went after government subsidized health care...something that actually hurt job creation and dampened the economy.

To sit here now and blame George W. Bush or a GOP minority that was essentially "toothless" back in 2009 is testament to how badly your heroes have handled the economy for the past six years.

"We crashed the economy but we don't like the way you tried to fix it." - GOP.

10+ milion PRIVATE sector jobs created under Obama since Obamacares passed Feb 2010

Dubya lost 1+ million in his 8 years (as well as 4+ million in 2009)

Bureau of Labor Statistics Data

You're such a scam artist when it comes to statistics, Dad...that it makes me laugh every time I see you trot one of your silly posts out!

Let's examine this latest one...shall we?

You count the "PRIVATE" sector jobs created since 2010? Why not private sector jobs and public sector jobs since Barry took office? Oh, gosh no! If you did an honest accounting like that, the number of jobs that have been created under the Obama Administration would shrink dramatically!

Then you count the 4 million lost in 2009 as W's? Why wouldn't those jobs lost belong to Barack Obama? Was Bush President of the United States in February of 2009? No, that was Barry. So let's tack on the 4 million jobs that were lost to his side of the balance sheet. Then lets tack on the jobs in the public sector that have been lost under Obama. Still want to claim that Barack Obama has created tons of jobs? Tell me what his NET job creation is for his six years in office, Dad! Be honest for once. Not jobs created in the private sector...not jobs "saved". How many NET jobs has he created since taking office?

Wait, you WANT to add the LOSS of 500,000 GOV'T JOBS to the Obama 'responsibility' AFTER Dubya/GOP added 2+ million GOV'T JOBS IN 8 YEARS? lol

"Then you count the 4 million lost in 2009 as W's? Why wouldn't those jobs lost belong to Barack Obama? Was Bush President of the United States in February of 2009? No, that was Barry."

Yeah, because Obama's policies started Jan 20th 2009, right? NOT like conservatives whined and complained that Dubya's first recession starting March 2001, was the FAULT of Clinton or his policies, but lets give Obama the ball from day one, even IF Dubya was Prez for 20 of 31 days in January, lol

NO, THE US ECONOMY AND IT'S ENTIRE CREDIT/BLAME START AND STOP THE DAY A NEW PREZ GETS INAUGURATED, LOL I GUESS THAT'S WHY CONS CREDIT REAGAN FOR 17 YEARS, LOL

ELEVEN MILLION PRIVATE SECTOR JOBS BETWEEN THE TIME THAT JOB KILLER, OBAMACARES WAS PASSED IN FEB 2010 UNTIL NOV 2014 BUBBA!!! lol

TOTAL JOBS? YOU BIG GOV'T FAKER!!!!

You ducked the question, Dad...how many NET jobs have been created during the Obama Administration? It's a simple question...yet you don't want to answer it.

You can only redistrict districts if you control State legislatures, Zeke. The GOP was able to do that because the voters in State after State made the decision that they didn't want progressives running their local government

Yep what you say is true. In Ohio the Republicans control the state legislature. Kasich had the good sense to not fight the auto bailouts (seeing as how Ohio lives and dies on the auto industry still) and he didn't fight the expansion of health care. He actually embraced it.

So yep, the Repubs in Ohio have taken some fine Democrat ideas and made them work for the citizens of the state.
And people support Kasich and he was re elected handily. Using the damn Democrats ideas. Pretty strange.

Care to take a stab at explaining why a Republican is sitting in the State House in Massachusetts right now, Zeke? Or another one is sitting in the State House in true blue Delaware? Why are liberal enclaves like THOSE electing Republicans to run their local governments?

Like California where we had a GOPer running the state for 16 of 20 years UNTIL Jerry Brown came back into office and cut off the credit card those GOPers used!

You can't give the American voters to much credit for being dumb, electing the GOPers at ANY level is ridiculous if you look at their actual records-policies- results!

Then look at WHERE those NET jobs have been created! How many of them have been created by the natural gas and oil boom that took place despite Barack Obama's dogged efforts to stop more fossil fuel production? Are you giving Barry credit for job creation that he did everything he could to not let happen?

Guess who had veto power as Guv for 16 of 20 years AND ramped up POLICY that created debt, like the GOPers do in EVERY state they run? So let's get this straight, as Prez the Executive Branch of Oboma admin is super powerful, but the Executive Branch (and policies) of a GOP Guv in Cali takes a back seat to legislator??? lol

Lazy, dumb, uninformed, brainwashed? Which one?

Paul Weyrich, "father" of the right-wing movement and co-founder of the Heritage Foundation, Moral Majority and various other groups tells his flock that he doesn't want people to vote. He complains that fellow Christians have "Goo-Goo Syndrome": Good Government. Classic clip from 1980.

You obviously don't grasp one of the major differences between how a Governor and a President governs, Dad! Governors must by law try to work within a balanced budget. They don't have the luxury of simply printing dollars to pay for their deficits. A President can do exactly that.

So you DO credit Barack Obama for the creation of those jobs in the oil and gas fields? How so when he has consistently come out against increasing production of fossil fuels? How so when oil and gas production on lands controlled by the Federal Government has gone DOWN since Barack Obama took office?

In the States the legislators and the Governor are legally required to work within a balanced budget. In the Federal Government no such requirement exists.
