I thought his comments on Trump were ... "heartening." I actually agreed with him about Trump's second impeachment, and I think (and hope) he's right about whether Maga would stand down if Trump won, and served a second term, rather than storming the capital again if their nominee didn't win in 28.

That is literally my fear. I respect Cole a lot, but after Jan 6, I don't see a reason for optimism. And up till Jan 6, I maybe could have lived with Trump's white nationalism and racism and misogyny enough to vote for him as the less bad option, but .... he hit the third rail, imo.

I think Cole was pretty much right on his views of his younger colleagues who seem to feel chaos is a way to govern.
