You could try to find a case where a prominent politician came out with a forceful statement condemning his/her supporters for making violent threats on his/her behalf. Start with the one that told their supporters to find opposition members, form a crowd around them and push them out of the public sphere.
 
Gotta break a couple eggs to make an omelette. Sometimes you have to violently demolish the remains of a building before you can rebuild. Sometimes you even have to remove the foundation and rebuild that correctly.

Thst was implied. if they’re part of what needs to be torn down to fix things, then they need to be removed as thoroughly as any piece of damaged building framing.

There hasn’t been a legitimate American government to commit treason against since before the Lincoln Administration.
