The disorienting nature of gaslighting.

White House economic advisor Kevin Hassett said Wednesday that the authors of a recent New York Federal Reserve paper that found U.S. companies and consumers are shouldering most of the tariff burden should be “disciplined.”

In a CNBC interview, the National Economic Council director ripped the report, saying that central bank researchers ignored key aspects of how the duties worked and instead simply focused on prices. Hassett said the research also should have included the upward impact on wages and benefits that U.S. companies see by bringing more production onshore.

The regime doesn't like what the report said. That doesn't make it wrong.

What makes Hassett's criticism of the Federal Reserve paper laughable is his assertion that the Fed needed to consider the impact of job creation and higher wages in determining the effect of the tariffs.

Given that manufacturing jobs have shown negative growth since Trump started his trade war, and investment in US manufacturing has DECLINED since that time, I certainly hope that the Fed took this into consideration.

Wages have gone up but have not kept pace with price increases.
  • Wages vs. Costs: Analysis indicates that while U.S. wages rose by approximately 6.3% in the year following the tariff announcement, this was accompanied by a 7.1% increase in U.S. prices, resulting in a decline in real wages for many, according to the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

There isn't a real economist in the world who thinks that Trump's tariffs are doing anything but harming the US economy.

The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to clear the way for the dismissal of the criminal conviction of President Trump’s longtime adviser, Stephen K. Bannon. The court’s action came in response to a request from the Trump administration, which had asked the justices to help wipe out the conviction from Mr. Bannon’s record.

Mr. Bannon already served four months in prison as a result of his 2022 conviction for contempt of Congress for refusing to testify to the House committee that investigated the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. He had asked the justices to intervene after an appeals court affirmed his conviction.

A dismissal would effectively wipe out Mr. Bannon’s conviction but have little practical effect since he has already served his sentence. It follows a pattern of Mr. Trump using the Justice Department to go after his perceived enemies and protect his allies by repeatedly granting clemency to supporters and pardoning rioters charged in connection with Jan. 6.

Todd Blanche, then the deputy attorney general, said in a previous statement that Mr. Bannon’s conviction was the result of an “improper” House subpoena and should be vacated.

“This department will continue to undo the prior administration’s weaponization of the justice system,” he said.

The subpoena was issued by Congress, not the Biden admin.

Moreover, it's Orwellian for the trump regime to suggest it is undoing the weaponization of the prior admin's actions even as it weaponizes the DoJ in favor of friends and against enemies.
Undoing the damage done by the prior admins abuse of the office a demafascit weaponization of the DOJ is paramount to saving our democracy

You've successfully been gaslighted. The regime needs to be reined in. Judges appointed by liberals and conservatives think so.

As we have seen in the past, Republicans have a habit of appointing disappointing judges, while the Dems make sure to only appoint SJW "team players"

Some District RINO judge is no better than some SJW moron district judge.

The SCOTUS is righting an injustice. Sorry, your gaslighting projection of weaponizing the DOJ just doesn't work Bug. As for practical effect. This opens the door for a wrongful prosecution and imprisonment suit against the Biden DOJ and the resulting waste of taxpayer $$$$ by the democrats AGAIN.

The SC isn't "righting an injustice" an injustice, and is unlikely to overturn Bannon's valid conviction.

Bannon fought the Congressional subpoena on the grounds of "executive privilege" in court and he LOST, and that's because he was not a government official at the time, and there is no "executive privilege" for him.

The only people "weaponizing the DOJ" are Trump and is illegal and incompetent criminal administration. That's why ALL of the cases against Trump's "enemies" are being thrown out of court. The only crime these people have committed, is disagreeing with convicted felon in the White House.

Americans rejected your claims, they saw the injustice and weaponization by your demafasict

That’s why they elected America’s Mandela, Trump…and he is righting that injustice created by your fascist tactics

Time for the lawfare Dems to pay a price for their treachery.

Hassett has joined the ranks of the useful idiots populating trump's staff. He has that dear in the headlights look when he repeats the regime's lies. Like cultists do.

I looked at the so-called evidence, and there is none, whether or not he’s president.
On the contrary, the evidence of his guilt is overwhelming. Just one example, he absolutely broke the law in refusing to comply with a subpoena for the return of the classified docs in his possession. At the very least he would have been convicted on that charge.

“A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will,” Trump wrote Tuesday morning on Truth Social.

“However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS?” he wrote.

“We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World.”

Based on the new leadership's words and actions trump appears to have had another psychotic episode.

How is this fake news, pleasejustquit???? We have video of Trump saying these things.

The only one dishing out fake news is Trump's description of the Regime Change. He has exchanged a hardline totalitarian regime with one which is even more extreme than the one he had murdered.

Trump keeps saying that Iran's defenses have been "obliterated", but they keep shooting down your planes and attacking your allies. How can they do that when they've been "obliterated".

Also, if the ability of Iran to enrich uranium has been "obliterated", why do you have to worry about them getting nuclear weapons.

Nothing Trump says makes any logical sense at all. And still you think you're "winning".
